Websites you can trust or not

 1. 1. Websites you can trust or not By Peter Honarvar, James Troy and Kevin Lee
 2. 2. Web search-How can you tell from true and false?

Are the aims of the site clear?

Does the site match its aims?

Is the site relevant to yourself?

Can the info be checked?

 3. 3. Websites You Can Not Trust

Wikipedia is a site put together by people all over the world. You can not trust this website called wikipedia because facts on wikipedia are made by normal people like you and me. Which means it is not always right. We do not know anything about these people or where they get their information. Some of the people may be smart and some might not be as smart.

Also websites written by individual people can say things that are a fact but is really an opinion like Asia is a better continent then North America or something like that.

 4. 4. Websites You Can Not Trust

Sketchy Websites: If you find a website that has spelling mistakes or no full stops this could prove that the writer of the website is showing that he or she does not care about the mistakes that he or she has made. This means it wouldn't be a good idea to go to that website for information.

 5. 5. Websites You Can Trust

If you are looking for news around the world then the good websites would be news organisations that have a good reputation.

If you are looking for information about a subject that interests you, then you should look for a site written by experts about that subject. For example, if you want to learn about basketball, then I think you should go to the website of the National Basketball Association: www.nba.com .
