  2. 2. <ul><li>Hampton University is located Southeast of Hampton, VA. </li></ul><ul><li>Hampton was founded in the year of 1868 </li></ul><ul><li>1870: H.U was chartered as a normal and agriculture school. </li></ul><ul><li>In 1930 -84 Hampton was founded by Samuel Chapman Armstrong </li></ul><ul><li>H.U is known as one of the first “Black Colleges”. </li></ul><ul><li>Hampton University has over 5,700 students that come from 49 states out of 35 territories including nations. </li></ul><ul><li>H.U represents urban centers, suburban communities,small towns, and rural areas. H.U also has a diversified background. </li></ul>Histrorically Speaking
  3. 3. <ul><li>Hampton University is a HBCU ( historically black college or university) and was founded on April 1, 1868. </li></ul><ul><li>Where can you find Hampton ? You can find Hampton in Hampton,VA. </li></ul><ul><li>What type of school is this anyway ? Hampton is a 4 year and Private University. </li></ul><ul><li>Endowment:162 million </li></ul><ul><li>Hampton can also be described as: Non Profit,Non- Sectarian, and CO-educational. </li></ul><ul><li>H.U mascot: Pirates </li></ul><ul><li>Colors: royal blue & white ( similar to Westlake's) </li></ul>College Type

  8. 8. <ul><li>Hampton University has a variety of clubs, teams,and organizations like: Concert Choir,Presidential Scholars,Underwater Explorers Club,International Students Association (travel and research), Student Christian Association </li></ul><ul><li>Terpsichorean Dance Company: </li></ul><ul><li>- Tap, - Ballet, -African, -Jazz ,- Modern ,- etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Programs: Student Leadership Program ,Leadership Institute, Honors College, International Studies Program. </li></ul><ul><li>Academic Programs: </li></ul><ul><li>52 undergraduate, 21 masters ,& 4 doctoral . </li></ul>We want EXTRA !!!!
