Different Types of Advertising <ul><li>Politicians use many different types of advertising to make sure their point get across to the viewers. </li></ul><ul><li>Some of the media used for advertising includes: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Many newspapers around the country. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Campaigning </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Television </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The Internet </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. Advertising in Newspapers <ul><li>Advertising through newspapers is very common among politicians. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Advertising includes political cartoons, printed ads, and summaries of important speeches. </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. Advertising through Campaigning <ul><li>Politicians spend most of the political race campaigning around the country. </li></ul><ul><li>Campaigning gives the politicians a chance to interact with the people directly and this usually has a bigger impact on the voters. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Advertising on Television <ul><li>Politicians release a series of commercials on television to impact voters. </li></ul><ul><li>They are advertised on channels that voters are most likely to watch, such as news stations. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Advertising on the Web <ul><li>The internet is used by so many people each day that politicians use it as an easy place for advertising. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Just search the name of your favorite, or least favorite politician, and see how many sites come up! </li></ul></ul>

Positive Advertising <ul><li>Positive campaigning, or campaign advocacy, is one way politicians can inform voters </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Campaign advocacy is when a candidate showcases his or her own positive qualities and informs voters about their plan in running the country. </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Negative Campaigning <ul><li>Negative campaigning is another way candidates can inform voters </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Negative campaigning involves one candidate showcasing the negative qualities of an opposing candidate in order to gain more votes. </li></ul></ul>
