Judging The Quick & The Dead

 1. 1. 2 Peter 3:3-9

I want to remind you that in the last days there will

be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every

evil thing they desire. This will be their argument:

"Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is

he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember,

everything has remained exactly the same since the

world was first created." They deliberately forget

that God made the heavens by the word of his

command, and he brought the earth up from the

water and surrounded it with water.

 2. 2.

Then he used the water to destroy the world with a

mighty flood. And God has also commanded that

the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire

on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will

perish. But you must not forget, dear friends, that a

day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a

thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really

being slow about his promise to return, as some

people think. No, he is being patient for your sake.

He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving

more time for everyone to repent.

 3. 3. Credo
 4. 4. Judging The Quick & The Dead

And he commanded us to preach unto the people,

and to testify that it is he which was ordained of

God to be the Judge of quick and dead. Acts 10:42KJV

 5. 5. The Last Days

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the

prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these

last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he

appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made

the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2

 6. 6. The Scoffers

I want to remind you that in the last days there will be

scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing

they desire 2 Peter 3:3

 7. 7. Where Is He?

This will be their argument: "Jesus promised to come back,

did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can

remember, everything has remained exactly the same since

the world was first created." 2 Peter 3:4

 8. 8. Two Simple Words

Again and again they tested God's patience and frustrated

the Holy One of Israel. They forgot about his power and

how he rescued them from their enemies. They forgot his

miraculous signs in Egypt, his wonders on the plain of

Zoan. Psalm 78:41-43

 9. 9. They Forgot: Who Created The World

They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water.

 10. 10. They Forgot: The Flood

Then he used the water to destroy the world

with a mighty flood.

 11. 11. The Day Of Judgment

And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will perish

 12. 12. The Wheat From The Chaff

Even now the ax of God's judgment is poised, ready to

sever your roots. Yes, every tree that does not produce

good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the

fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the grain with

his winnowing fork…storing the grain in his barn but

burning the chaff with never-ending fire. Matthew 3:10,12

 13. 13. Do Not Forget

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends:

With the Lord a day is like a thousand years,

and a thousand years are like a day.

 14. 14. In His Time

For you, a thousand years are as yesterday! They are like a

few hours! You sweep people away like dreams that

disappear or like grass that springs up in the morning.

Psalm 90:4-5

 15. 15. He Is Patient

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,

as some understand slowness.

He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,

but everyone to come to repentance.

 16. 16. He Will Come To Judge The Living & The Dead
