  • Blackboard were Founded in 1997 Our 1 st educational product was our learning platform Bb learn which is still at the core of everything we do But we have realised that to create that perfect environment where teaching and learning can take place, we need to expand our portfolio to touch on all areas the College experience in and out of the classroom . Our ultimate mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be educated.
  • Many institutions have focused on mobile teaching and learning. Blackboard certainly believes this is important, but when matching the capabilities of the device to the services students most need day to day, we think there is a broader set of solutions needed for a mobile platform to student engagement. Students, Alumni and others want to be able to connect to the institution in meaningful ways directly from their smart phone. On campus they want to know where they are, and where to go. They need detailed facility information. They also need access to news, updates and information about the institution. Students want information on the go without having to walk up to a terminal, or open a laptop. Common services like the library and course catalogs can be accessed at a glance with a simple device. From the latest sports scores and schedules, to campus events and activities; consider how a student's engagement with the institution changes when they have ready access to this information from their smart phone.
