Engineering Design Skills Circuit design for analog and digital signals. Box assembly designs with military connectors. PCB design, component selection, and build. Cable harness sizing, system power analysis. Embedded digital servo motion control drives. Development of specs for sensors & motors. Budget, cost, schedule and quality conscious. Engineering Tool Set: • GD&T, MS Visual Basic, MS Visio, MS Office, MS Project, Team Center. • Cadence OrCAD, PSpice, AutoCAD, C++, Agile, SDLC Methodology. • Understanding of NFPA, NEC, ANSI, IPC specs, Mil Specs, Lean, FMEA.
  7. 7. Project Assignment & ResultTask 1. Obsolescence of Rounds Limit SwitchesEvaluated current specification drawings and existingdesigns to improve material selections anddeveloped Pro-E designs for new assembly build-to-print drawings to meet all environmental &performance requirements for Warner Robins AirLogistics Command. Performed some Qual byanalysis and verification by cycle test and fire test.Fielded on F-15, F-16, & A-10 aircraft.
  8. 8. Project Assignment & ResultTask 2. Specification of Servo System MotorsEvaluated mechanical dynamic loads of ammohandling control systems to determine effects ofinertia and acceleration & speed requirements tomeet time lines for many test case scenarios.Optimized motor performance for size & weight.Motor performance met gun firing time line onCrusader Self-propelled Howitzer and ammo fieldsupply mission of the Resupply Vehicle.
  9. 9. Project Assignment & ResultTask 3. JSF Aircraft Cables for Lockheed MartinDesigned aircraft military interface cables to meetcustomer requirements for light-weight constructionmaterials while meeting the high temperature specs, functional electrical system performance, and the EMItest requirements. Cables met EMI under electricalsystem loads. Also, designed cables for the JSF 20mmGatling guns to meet rigors of firing & gun systemrecoil.
  10. 10. Project Assignment & ResultTask 4. Create EFV Software Test RequirementsBased on turret system specifications for ammohandling system, developed software test cases tomeet derived requirements for the embeddedcontrol unit. Developed the test plan & validated thebench-top system performance using servo motorloads. Part of electrical project team that developedthe electronic control unit, firmware, motors, andcables for the ammo feed system.
