  1. 1. Smart phones <ul><li>How they are affecting productivity, communication in the work place, social engagement and in education? </li></ul>
  2. 2. <ul><li>A smart phone is a mobile phone enhanced with computer technology . </li></ul><ul><li>Some of the enhancements include email, internet access, and the ability to create and edit documents. </li></ul><ul><li>Smart phones have become popular as they are becoming relatively affordable. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Are affecting productivity, communication in work places, social engagement, and have an effect in education. I agree with this statement. </li></ul><ul><li>Ideas supporting my argument are illustrated on the slides that follow with the aid of diagrams. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Productivity <ul><li>Smart phones can integrate many applications: from email to organizers. </li></ul><ul><li>They can run business applications examples are: Office mobile and Skype. </li></ul><ul><li>Smart phones can be used as modems which is very convenient. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Communication in work places <ul><li>Smart phones ensure that less time is spent checking emails. </li></ul><ul><li>Employees and clients can communicate outside the office. </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate enabled even when employers are on vacation. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Social engagement <ul><li>Instant messaging is made possible with the use of smart phones. </li></ul><ul><li>Social networking sites are readily available, (eg: Myspace) </li></ul><ul><li>People easily share ideas about the world they live in. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Effect on Education <ul><li>Solving of academic problems is possible and easier , eg: solving algebra. </li></ul><ul><li>Google/ Yahoo applications make research easier for students. </li></ul><ul><li>They provide tools for conducting basic exploratory work. </li></ul>
