  3. 3. 1 He went into the synagogue again andthere was a man there who had a witheredhand. 2 Jesus was being watched to seewhether he would heal the man on theSabbath so they would have grounds toaccuse him of wrongdoing. Jesus said tothe man with the withered hand, “Get upand come here.”
  4. 4. 4 He asked the others, “Is it lawful to dogood on the Sabbath or to do evil, to savelife or destroy it?” But they were silent.
  5. 5. 5 And he looked at all of them in anger,grieving at the hardness of their hearts.He said to the man, “Stretch out yourhand.” And he stretched it out and hishand was completely restored. 6 ThePharisees went out and immediatelydiscussed with the Herodians how theymight kill him.

  9. 9. What has he told us?• Jesus used the healing to provoke the Pharisees• Jesus asked the man to stretch out his hand• He stretched it out and was restored• This event united the enemies of Pharisees and Herodians in killing Jesus
