2. A Little About PICEL
 PICEL, pronounced [pik-suhl, -sel] is a social network
site where users share their captured moments through
video and pictures
 PICEL was derived from the word pixel, which is short
for picture element
 Rory Karps developed this concept in 2012

any web browser on a Mac
or PC
 A partnership with Facebook
was established to help push
the PICEL brand to the
masses.
 PICEL offers the fastest
upload speeds for
editing, sharing and creating
content

4. PICEL’s Mission
 PICEL’s goal is to be the driving force for photo/video
editing and sharing on the web
 Many current site are tailored to just either photo or
video (ex. YouTube, Vimeo, Picassa, instagram)
 PICEL will take the best of both worlds and put them
together in one place

their space using HTML, CSS or Java
•Media is uploaded to PICEL via PICEL

after a member’s account is created

•PICEL TIMELINE is a web-based
editing software for photo and video
content
•In the photo side of the program you
are able to tap into your online photo
library
•Users can edit their images as they see
fit
•Images can be tagged and posted to
FaceBook, Picel or sent through email
•Images can easily be downloaded to
your computer so they can be printed or
saved

TIMELINE, a user is able to edit their
video content
•A user can take their uploaded
media in PICEL and edit their content
together using this web-based
software
•Content can then be publish in
several different formats to be
downloaded

Facebook, Picel or posted on to a
user’s personal page

•Members have the opportunity to share
their content with other people
•Members would sign up for different time
slots and can feature their photo or video
work
•A live chat discussion would take place
between the presenter and the user
•The main window would show the
presenter’s work, while to the right there
will be a discussion window
•Below the feature worked, you would see
the presenter’s avatar and information
about them

 PICEL seeks to provide top notch
service to the everyday user
 Being able to produce video and
picture has become vital to be
apart of our interactive world
 Offering free software and space
for the user to explore, allows
many people to share and
collaborate ideas
 Everyone should have the
opportunity and tools needed to
capture a moment and share it
