Introduction to Geodetic Survey:
Geodesy’ is the branch of physics that deals with the study of
accurate measurement of earth’s geography, mass distribution,
orientation, etc.
It varies concerning time.
The phenomena of performing Geodesy using GPS(Global
Positioning System) through satellite for navigation purposes and
to measure the position of points in terrestrial base stations
(Simply measures earth’s Geodynamical phenomena during
surveying for some projects) is known as Geodetic survey.
The accuracy and precision of the geodetic survey depend upon
the observed values in the field.
GPS traces the position correctly with the help of satellites.
These satellites are also used by scientists to monitor plate
tectonics motions, earthquakes, volcanic hazards, landslide
hazards, groundwater pressure, etc.
