Using EPIC at Mc Donogh 26 <ul><li>WHO- Whole staff </li></ul><ul><li>WHAT- Epic videos- lower primary small group instruction and upper </li></ul><ul><li>elementary small group instruction- (LaRose Elementary) </li></ul><ul><li>WHEN- First PD on introducing four tenets- </li></ul><ul><li>HOW- </li></ul><ul><li>Defined Focused Small Group Instruction </li></ul><ul><li>Showed Epic clips so that teachers could visualize what small group instruction could look like in their classes. Showed a clip of lower primary grades and upper primary grades so that teacher’s could see focused small group instruction is applicable to all grade levels </li></ul><ul><li>Led open discussion of what made small group instruction work in these classes and how we could incorporate what we saw into our practices. </li></ul><ul><li>Ended with an activity where teachers associated construction tools to how small group instruction impacts classroom instruction. </li></ul><ul><li>OUTCOME- Many teacher’s commented that they were visual learners and appreciated the videos. Several commented that the videos helped them believe it was possible to do small group instruction effectively in their classroom setting. </li></ul>
