Images of the Flowers of the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show

  1. 1. IMAGES OF THE FLOWERS OF THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW! gary marlowe IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARY JULY 2011
  2. 2. IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARYABOUT THESE IMAGESI’M CERTAINLY NOT AN EXPERT ON FLOWERS, ALL I KNOW IS WHICH ONES I LIKE THE LOOK OF. AT CHELSEA,EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK THERE ARE STUNNING EXAMPLES, SO WITH LIMITED TIME - I WAS AT THE SHOW FORJUST TWO DAYS - IT’S A QUESTION OF IF YOU SEE SOMETHING INTERESTING, SHOOT IT. THE IMAGES THATFOLLOW REPRESENT ONLY A FEW OF THE THOUSANDS OF FLOWERS ON DISPLAY, BUT HOPEFULLY CAPTURETHE COLOUR AND THE VARIETY OF THE 2011 SHOW. MANY OF THEM WON AWARDS, INCLUDING ‘WILD SWAN’WHICH RECEIVED THE COVETED RHS CHELSEA 2011 PLANT OF THE YEAR. FROM A DISTANCE I CONFESS ITDIDN’T LOOK PARTICULARLY SPECIAL, BUT GET UP CLOSE AND IT WAS SIMPLY STUNNING, WHICH IS WHY IT’SON THE COVER. IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER IMAGE COLLECTIONS FROMCHELSEA THAT ARE ALSO HERE ON SLIDESHARE.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOTICETHE IMAGES CONTAINED IN THIS PRESENTATION WERE CREATED BY GARY MARLOWE AND, WHILST BEINGAVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON SLIDESHARE, THEY REMAIN THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF GARY MARLOWE.© GARY MARLOWE | 2011 gary marlowe

  78. 78. MORE IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARYTHERE ARE THREE OTHER IMAGE COLLECTIONS OF THE 2011 CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW AVAILABLE FOR YOUTO ENJOY ON SLIDESHARE. CHECK THEM OUT NOW. A MONACO GARDEN FOR THE PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO’S CHELSEA DEBUT, SARAH EBERLE DESIGNED A HIGHLY ARCHITECTURAL ‘AMUSE-BOUCHE’ GARDEN. WITH ITS NATURAL PLANTING AND STUNNING ART WORKS, IT ATTRACTED THE CROWDS, THE CELEBRITIES AND THE PLAUDITS AS IT WAS AWARDED A GOLD MEDAL. THE AUSTRALIAN GARDEN JIM FOGARTY DESIGNED A STUNNING GARDEN BASED ON THE JOURNEY OF WATER FROM THE BRIGHT RED SANDS OF THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK TO THE GORGES OF VICTORIA. 18 MONTHS IN THE MAKING, AND PACKED WITH INTERESTING DETAILS LIKE A BOOMERANG SHAPED POOL, IT WAS A CHELSEA FAVOURITE AND A GOLD MEDAL WINNER. A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE INTERFLORA’S INNOVATIVE FLORAL DISPLAY IN THE GRAND PAVILION TOOK FLORISTRY TO A NEW LEVEL. WITH ITS ARTFUL FUSION OF FLOWERS AND ARCHITECTURE, IT WAS A FEAST FOR THE EYES AND A WORTHY WINNER OF A GOLD MEDAL. gary marlowe
