Adopted in 1976, revised in 2000<br />Based on universally shared values, principles and norms<br />Applicable worldwide<br />42 adhering countries (31 OECD countries, 11 non-OECD countries: Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Peru, Slovenia and Romania) – and other countries have applied<br />A unique implementation mechanism <br />What are the OECD MNE Guidelines?<br />They are voluntaryrecommendations to MNEs in all major areas of business ethics <br />They are the most comprehensive government-backed <br />code of conduct for enterprises with multi-stakeholder involvement<br />

Whydothe OECD Guidelinesneed the GRI?<br />The Guidelines encourage MNEs to apply high quality standards for disclosure of financial and non-financial information. <br />A standardized template is needed to ensure consistency and comparability of sustainability reporting under the Guidelines and other instruments.<br />GRI is the leading framework for sustainability reporting. <br />GRI is a major source of knowledge on corporate responsibility issues and draws upon a large multi-stakeholder network.<br />
