1. What is a computer system – computer, monitor, periphery; how does the computer work and what does an operational system mean; MS Office or how do we compose documents. Specific tasks: computer turn on and shut down; how do we create a file folder and how do we open and save documents; creating Word documents: basic concepts.2.What is internet and how does it function; worldwide web terminology:browser, chat, emoticons; what is Googleor where do we start; finding, saving and printing information;web browser launch and opening Google; finding information about train schedules, public utility companies, the library;saving information on CD and document printing.3.What is e-mail and how does it function; preparation for e-mail or Skype registration; what is Skype, launch, video chat; picture and other file and document online transfer; creating an e-mail account in abv.bg (or in other domains); working with Skype; transfer of pictures; downloading pictures from a digital camera and saving on a flash drive.
At the beginning of the training, all participants receive a folder of training materials: agenda, entry and final questionnaires, training and visual aidson training topics, glossary of new terms.
35 children aged 6 – 15 years of whom 15 girls took part in the survey.19 stated they associated their summer library visits to the traditional reading of books, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, etc.The biggest number of respondents – 24 want to play computer games and 17 – to surf the internet.As to the things they want to learn about computers, 21 children say they want to know how to search information online, 10 respondents want to acquire presentation design skills and 8 – how to design invitations, business cards, etc.

The training includes 15 classes for Bulgarian language students from Smolyan branch of PaisiiHilendarski University of Plovdiv.The training aims to: assist students’ activities involving books and information resources provided by the District Library in Smolyan, their university library and other libraries provide practical skills in compiling various types of information lists and bibliographies
