  2. 2. Goal<br />You are part of a team of executives of a shipping company that ships sports equipment to places around the world. <br />
  3. 3. Role<br />As a company your role is to make the most efficient container to transport goods for a company. If the company determines that you have done good work, they will commission (hire) you for a multi-million dollar contract. <br />
  4. 4. Audience<br />Your teachers will be acting as executives of sports companies such as Nike and Addidas and determine if your work demonstrates that you should be hired as their shipping managers. <br />
  5. 5. Situation<br />You must make a box that can hold 3 of your company products. How well you make your box will determine whether you have shown your understanding of surface area and volume. <br />
  6. 6. Performance<br />You will build a model prototype that can hold three items. In doing so, you must demonstrate:<br />How much material was used for the container. (Surface Area)<br />How much space is left in your container (Efficiency)<br />Your artistic talent by designing a company logo that is flashy (Design Integration)<br />

Timeline of Tasks<br />Day 1<br />Determine what is the best way to package three of your items in a sketch. <br />Measure and cut out a net as a box on practice paper<br />Calculate the surface area of your container. <br />Extension<br />Design a logo/icon, company name and company slogan to attach to your box using Photoshop or other multimedia software.
