Since twelve years the researchers of the Roman area organize the European Researchers' Night, a project funded by European Commission to discover science and meet researchers through an Europe-wide public event dedicated to fun learning. Since the first edition in 2006, when the National Laboratory of INFN's in Frascati hosted 4000 visitors the project is always grown up to 50,000 attendees and more than 50 scientific partners. In the last edition, The Frascati Scienza association, which was born to coordinate the event, operated in over 30 Italian cities from south to north of the peninsula. In addition, the Made in Science project - European Research Week 2016/17 - has been the one of the largest project funded by the European Commission and it's often referred to as a model for organization and communication to the general public.

The 12 yeas data collected and results obtained, as well as some of the most important experiences in public communication of science will be shown.
presented at INTED2018 The 12th annual International Technology, Education and Development Conference, Valencia (Spain) on the 5th, 6th and 7th of March, 2018.

Involve more then 300 European cities, 50 Italian cities, 30 of which under the coordination of Frascati Scienza Frascati Scienza is a non-profit association of researchers and the public, supported by public institutions, universities and by the major Italian research centres that organised since 12 years the European Researchers' Night, transforming the Tuscolana area and Rome in the epicentre of Italian research. 5th,6thand7thofMarch,2018,Valencia(Spain)

The main objectives of the survey were to: • define the target audience reached during the European Researchers' Night • measure knowledge and promotion of the researcher's figure • draft the most possible concrete idea of the image of the researcher • understand how much difference, between Italy and Europe, is perceived by the public interviewed in relation to employability and research and funding • analyse how much the role of research in Italy and Europe • evaluate how much and which media influenced the dissemination • understanding what was the level of appreciation of the events. • Since 2014 we have started to collect qualitative feedback though world cafe/ Trivia Night and the #humasofERN project 5th,6thand7thofMarch,2018,Valencia(Spain)
