  1. 1. Gibson LPM Brand History Mandolin maker Orville Gibson founded the company now known as Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1902. A big name in bluegrass music as well as rock, Gibson is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Gibson was an innovator in guitar design throughout the 1920s, specializing in arch top acoustic guitars. To this day, Gibson is known for fine acoustic guitars. Its popular acoustic and acoustic-electric models include the Dove, the SJ-200, the J-160E made famous by John Lennon, the Songwriter, the J-45 and the Hummingbird. In 1936, Gibson introduced its first electric guitar, the ES-150, with a distinctive pickup considered one of the best jazz pickups ever made. In 1952, the first Gibson solid body electric guitar was introduced and endorsed by Les Paul. The newly renamed Les Paul electric guitar went on to become one of the most popular guitars of all time. Gibson quality is reflected in its bass guitars, as well. Gibson introduced its first bass guitar in 1953 and soon established itself as a bass company. The SG, Les Paul, and Thunderbird have become favorites of instrumentalists. Gibson LPM Solidbody Electric Guitar Old-school Vibe Meets Next-gen Convenience! Gibson's LPM is unlike any Les Paul solidbody electric guitar we've seen at Great Guitar Shop, combining classic Les Paul style, vintage tone, and futuristic robot tuners to provide you with the tone and performance you need. At first glance, the maple-topped traditional weight-relief body and '50s rounded neck profile suggest a throwback design, whereas the Min-ETune robotic tuner system gives you tuning convenience you'll only find on the latest models. Add to that a pair of nice and hot '61 Zebra humbuckers, and you've got a vintage-style tone that's perfect for modern and classic rock alike. See? The possibilities are endless with this LPM from Gibson. Gibson LPM Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:  '61 Zebra humbuckers deliver the extra-hot sound of early rock  Gibson's Min-ETune helps you broaden your range as a guitarist  '50s rounded neck carve gives you traditional chunkier feel
  2. 2. '61 Zebra humbuckers deliver the extra-hot sound of early rock Everyone knows that the Les Paul was one of the most influential guitars of the early rock scene, and a lot of that had to do with Gibson's early humbucker experiments. The '61 Zebra humbuckers on the LPM give you the overwound sound that made early Les Pauls perfect for rock. Unbalanced windings and Alnico V magnets are the key to these exciting humbuckers, giving your LPM the vintage tone that inspired a revolution in modern music. Gibson's Min-ETune helps you broaden your range as a guitarist We know you already know how to tune your guitar, but that's not what the LPM's Min-ETune system is all about. Sure, it's a handy time saver, but the real power is in the alternate tunings. When's the last time you were in a musical slump? Did you try an alternate guitar tuning for some fresh inspiration? With the ability to re-tune your LPM to DADGAD, Open D, or any other alternate tuning in seconds, you'll have no reason not to experiment in new musical ways. And if you end up writing a new song in an alternate tuning, the Min-ETune system will take seconds instead of minutes to re-tune when you're ready to perform it live. '50s rounded neck carve gives you traditional chunkier feel If you're less of a fan of Gibson's thinner SlimTaper neck carves, then the LPM's slightly chunkier and incredibly comfortable '50s rounded neck profile is sure to float your boat. Not only is it satisfying in your hand, but the added mass of this neck gives your LPM punchier dynamics and sustain that will go on for days. Gibson 2014 LPM Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:  A vintage-style Les Paul with hot-rod tone and modern amenities  Traditional weight-relief mahogany body topped with maple provides balanced tone and resonance  Unbalanced Alnico V '61 Zebra humbuckers deliver classic hot humbucker tone  '50s rounded neck carve gives you a chunkier and more comfortable feel than a modern SlimTaper  Min-ETune robotic pickup system makes tuning a breeze, even mid song!
