Talk to them. There is always tons of information
that's just in their heads. No documentation will
ever match that.

contribute and make a difference. If you can
write English prose, chances are you can
improve the documentation, which is typically
the weakest part of any project.
Add a question (and answer) you had about the
project to the project FAQ. Project doesn't have
an FAQ? Then start it, including your Q&A.
