  2. 2. <ul><li>The Sumatran Tiger is one of the most </li></ul><ul><li>threatened species of animal on earth. </li></ul><ul><li>The tiger isa part of the cat family. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>The Sumatran Tiger is the darkest and smallest of the tigers, suitable for its rainforest habitat. The Sumatran Tiger is orange all over with black strips. It is up to 2.4m head to tail and weights about 90kg. It also has white fur on it’s belly. It has four legs with sharp claws to protect it’s self and it’s cubs. Unlike other cats the Sumatran Tiger has rounded ears. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>The Sumatran Tiger lives on the island of Sumatra. It also lives in forests (rainforest) lowlands and mountain areas. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>The Sumatran Tiger is a carnivorous which means they only eat meat. Tigers that are in the zoo get fed steak but if it is out in the wild they will eat their prey. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Tigers are very good swimmers and climbers they are also good at pouncing at their prey and stalking their prey. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>After 103 days after mating with a male tiger the female gives birth to her cubs. Normal the female has two or three cubs sometimes en seven. They stay with there mum for 3 years. </li></ul><ul><li>For 8 weeks the female feeds them milk and teachers them how to hunt. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>The very sad thing is there is only 240 left in the wild they are very endangered. </li></ul>
