The animal kingdom

  1. 1. THE ANIMAL KINKDOM The Origins of lifeThis question has always preoccupied man, both for himself and for the living things around him. Life is in fact of aquatic origin and water is the major component of all living cells. Without water, life is not possible. The references made in the Qur’an regarding the aquatic origin of life is strictly in accordance with the modern scientific data:
  2. 2. “Do not the Unbelievers see thatthe heavens and the earth werejoined together, then We clovethem asunder and We got everyliving thing out of the water. Will they not then believe?” (Qur’an 21:30)
  3. 3. “And Allah has created every animal fromwater: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills for verily Allah has power over all things.” Qur’an (24:45)
  4. 4. STATEMENTS CONCERNING BEES, SPIDERS AND BIRDSWhen specialists on the nervous system wishto provide striking examples of the prodigiousorganization directing animal behavior possiblythe most referred-to animals are bees, spidersand birds (especially migratory birds).Whatever the case, there is no doubt thatthese three groups constitute a model of highlyevolved organization.
  5. 5. MY LORD HAS NAMED A WHOLE CHAPTER :IN HIS BOOK AFTER MY NAME THE BEE “And thy Lord inspired the bee, saying: Choose thou habitations in the hills and in the trees and in that which they thatch; Then eat ofall fruits, and follow the ways of thy Lord, madesmooth (for thee). There cometh forth from their bellies a drink diverse of hues, wherein is healing for mankind. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.” (The Bee, 16:68-69) Scientific article: click here
  6. 6. :FROM A CHAPETER TITLED THE SPIDER “The parable of those who takeprotectors other than Allah is that ofthe spider, who taketh unto herself a house, and lo! the frailest of all houses is the spiders house, if they but knew.” (The Spider:29:41) Scientific article: Click here
  7. 7. :FROM A CHAPTER TITLED THE ANT“Till, when they reached the Valley of the Ants,an ant exclaimed: O ants! Enter your dwellingslest Solomon and his armies crush you, unperceiving. And (Solomon) smiled, laughingat her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me tobe thankful for Thy favor wherewith Thou hastfavored me and my parents, and to do good thatshall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me in(the number of) Thy righteous slaves.” (The Ant, 27:18-19) Scientific Article: click
  8. 8. BOTH OF US ARE WEAK“O mankind! A similitude is coined, sopay ye heed to it: Lo! those on whom yecall beside Allah will never create a flythough they combine together for thepurpose. And if the fly took somethingfrom them, they could not rescue it fromhim. So weak are (both) the seeker andthe sought!” (Qur’an, 22:73)
  9. 9. REFERENCES TO THE EXISTENCE OF ANIMAL COMMUNITIESAnimal behavior has been closely investigatedin recent decades, with the result that genuineanimal communities have been shown to exist.of course, for a long time now the results of agroup or communitys work have beenexamined and this has led to the acceptanceof a community organization.Birds are frequently mentioned in the Quran. They appear in episodes in the life ofAbraham, Joseph, David, Solomon and Jesus. (peace be upon them all)
  10. 10. “There is not an animal (that lives)on the earth, nor a being that flieson its wings, but (forms part of)communities like you.Nothing have we omitted from theBook, then unto their Lord theywill be gathered.” Qur’an (6:38)
  11. 11. “Have they not seen the birds abovethem spreading out their wingsand closing them?Naught upholdeth them save theBeneficent. Lo!He is Seer of all things.” (Qur’an,67:19)
  12. 12. THE FORMATION OF MILKThe basic materials which allow the nourishment ofthe body come about as a result of chemicalchanges in the digestive system. These digestedsubstances then pass through the wall of theintestine into the blood stream. Due to thecirculation of the blood, the nutriments reach themammary glands, the producers of milk as it doesto any other organ. This very precise concept is the result of thediscoveries made in the chemistry and physiology ofthe digestive system. It was totally unknown at thetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be uponhim): the knowledge of it belongs to recent times.
  13. 13. “Verily, in cattle there is a lesson foryou. We give you to drink of what isinside their bodies, coming from aconjunction between the contents ofthe intestine and the blood, a milkpure and pleasant for those who َdrink it..” Qur’an(16, 66) Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny? Quran, (55:18)
  14. 14. And cattle He has created for you (men): from them ye derivewarmth, and numerous benefits, and of their (meat) ye eat.And ye have a sense of pride and beauty in them as ye drivethem home in the evening, and as ye lead them forth topasture in the morning. And they carry your heavy loads to lands that ye could not(otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lordis indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful. And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you toride and use for show; and He has created (other) things ofwhich ye have no knowledge. Qur’an (16:5-8)
  15. 15. O men! Call to mind the grace of Allah unto you!is there a creator, other than Allah, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He: how then are ye deluded away from the Truth? Quran (35: 3)
  16. 16. The Camel “Ship of the Desert”. Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made? And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm? And at the Earth, how it is spread out? Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. Thou art not one to manage (mens) affairs. )Qur’an (88:18-22
  17. 17. What a wonderful structure has thisShip of the Desert? He can storewater in his stomach for days. He canlive on dry and thorny desert shrubs. His limbs are adapted to his life. Hecan carry men and goods. His fleshcan be eaten. Camels hair can beused in weaving. And withal, he is sogentle! Who can sing his praisesenough? Scientific Article: click here
  18. 18. LIKE SWARMING LOCUSTS They will come out of thegraves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. Qur’an (54:7)
  19. 19. • The resurrected are likened to locusts; why particularly locusts?• There is a similarity between the rebirth of locusts and man’s resurrection. 1. After a long time 2. From under the ground 3. They rise to the surface of the earth 4. Altogether 5. Densely crowded Scientific Article: click here
