Gastritis is an inflammatory process of the gastric mucosa that can be caused by a variety of conditions, commonly H.pylori infection or the use of drugs such as NSAID's.
The relationship between eating
and pain is not consistent (i.e.,
food may either aggravate or
relieve the pain).
Clinical features
Asymptomatic Epigastric pain
But may cause dyspepsia,
anorexia, nausea or vomiting,
and hematemesis or melena.
