The English Department Teaching and Learning objectives <ul><li>Train students to become confident speakers. </li></ul><ul><li>Train students to think critically. </li></ul><ul><li>Level up all students in the 21 st century skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote self-directed learning and collaboration between learners of different abilities. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide a safe environment for students to make mistakes and make improvements. </li></ul>

Like example: Writing Structures, Grammar components, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Videos are parked online for easy access by students. </li></ul><ul><li>Individuals select, manage, and assess their own learning activities, which can be pursued at any time, in any place, through any means, at any age. </li></ul><ul><li>Videos act as a re-cap for skills being taught in class. </li></ul>

Chroma Key (Green Screen technology) <ul><li>What is Chroma Key? </li></ul><ul><li>- a technique in which a background and a live foreground image can be morphed together </li></ul><ul><li>often only revealing the desired image selected by the production editor </li></ul><ul><li>What are our roles then? </li></ul><ul><li>The student or teacher </li></ul><ul><li>can take the role of a director or production editor when </li></ul><ul><li>using Adobe Premier Pro or when filming </li></ul>

Chroma Key in English Language Using Constructivist Learning Theory, refers to the idea that learners construct knowledge for themselves---each learner individually (and socially) constructs meaning---as he or she learns. Constructing meaning is learning. <ul><li>Students learn about: </li></ul><ul><li>-Text types (Expository, Narrative, Persuasive, Procedural, Transactional or Situational) - Structures/Key components of different text-types </li></ul><ul><li>Genre </li></ul><ul><li>Students learn how to discuss and provide detail about </li></ul><ul><li>why digital storytelling is important to education </li></ul><ul><li>how to create effective stories </li></ul><ul><li>techniques of digital storytelling </li></ul>
