What is Mathcad? • Mathcad is an important Computer- Algebra-System (CAS) used for engineering and making calculations • We have used Mathcad for 3 years in Secondary school mathematics classes • Compared to other CAS, Mathcad is very easy to use (after 3 hours’ instruction, our students were able to create their own documents 21st Century Learning 11 Conference, GSIS Hong Kong
12. 12. What do we do with Mathcad? 1. Create dates (all students have their own dates) 2. Solve a system of equations 3. Define functions 4. Create graphical representations of functions 5.
