  5. 5. SAMR model• Substitution• Augmentation• Modification• Redefinition• Our goal is modification and redefinition (with a bit of augmentation along the way!)
  6. 6. So the key question is..• Will iPads enhance or transform the learning taking place in your classroom?• Do not mistake short term engagement due to the novelty of the device for deeper long-term engagement brought about by a genuine transformation of learning

How to get to impact?• Must become familiar with the technology• Borrow an iPad over weekend/holiday• School is investing in wireless infrastructure and if pilot is successful, will invest in more devices for staff and students• Linking what we ‘do’ with the ABLM• Read and observe (Newsletter, Twitter, Blogs, Peer-observation)• Use them in lessons• Persevere!
