  4. 4. ..…is similar to a vapour compression cycle in thatit relies on 3 basic principals:-When liquid is heated it vaporizes (boils) andwhen gas is cooled it condenses.Lowering the pressure of a liquid reduces itsboiling point.Heat flows from warmer to cooler mediums.

Instead of mechanically compressing a gas, theabsorption cooling relies on a thermo-chemicalcompressorTwo different fluids are used that dissolve easily inone another;water under a vacuum as refrigerantammonia or LiBr* as an absorbentThe refrigerant (water) can change from liquid tovapour state easily and is circulated through thesystem driven by the heat of the solar plant >80degrees

The ammonia used in the closed cooling system issafe, odourless and non-toxic.Ammonia carries no risk to the ozone layer.The hot water heated by the sun used as the primaryenergy source carries no risk to the environment.Should a support energizer be required, waste productcombustion can be used as well as any conventionalenergy source such as gas, oil or electricity.
