1. 1. The Internet isn’t just for fun?
2. 2. Getting Connected
There are many different ways to use the internet in your favor.
Facebook
LinkedIn
Twitter
Blog
3. 3. Facebook
Facebook is one of the most popular sites to get connected with friends family and co-workers at the moment. You can have a personal page as well as a fan page if you are a company, place, or celebrity.
4. 4. Be Professional
Don’t be dumb with your Facebook and let everyone see embarrassing photos of you. If you do not change the privacy settings on your page then anyone can see whatever you have on it. You will be judged by this.
5. 5. Content
Within your Facebook page it has places for you to type your interests, activities, favorites, etc. Again be professional with this. You never know who is looking at your page.
6. 6. Fan Pages
Fan pages are a great way for companies to stay connected with their customer. Here they can post upcoming events and products. This helps the customer feel connected.
7. 7. LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a great site that acts somewhat like Facebook but more focused on staying connected with co-workers and getting jobs.
8. 8. Connections
With LinkedIn you connect with people you have worked with in the past or currently do. They can give you recommendations and forward your profile to others that you may be able to work for.
9. 9. Twitter
Twitter is a site that is perfect for keeping customers of friends updated on what you or your company is up to. You do this through short posts where you can include links and photos.
10. 10. Tweets?
Don’t post about unimportant things. Keep others up to date on special events or new products to keep them in the loop. Some companies even offer special contests through their twitter pages.
11. 11. Followers
Within Twitter you choose to follow people and they can follow you. Follow anyone that you are interested to see their updates on your main page.
12. 12. Blogs
Blogs can be used in the same way as twitter but with much more in depth information.
13. 13. Entries
Your blog entries should be frequent so that fans know to check back for new content.
14. 14. Wrap
Lots of ways to promote yourself and your company through the internet. Be smart and do your research before trying to make in impact.
