  3. 5. <ul><li>Be on time to class – lateness will count </li></ul><ul><li>against you. </li></ul><ul><li>10 minutes or later will be marked “Late” at the beginning of </li></ul><ul><li>class. </li></ul><ul><li>* Return to class from break time promptly. (ten-minute break) </li></ul><ul><li>3 “Lates” = 1 absence </li></ul><ul><li>20 minutes or later = 1 absence </li></ul><ul><li>Falling asleep in class = 1 absence </li></ul><ul><li>1 absence = minus 1 point </li></ul><ul><li>Attendance – If you miss more than 4 classes, then it is an </li></ul><ul><li>automatic “F” grade. </li></ul>
  4. 6. <ul><li>These are only accepted if the student submits </li></ul><ul><li>a DOCTOR’S note or note from a HOSPITAL or </li></ul><ul><li>ARMY or UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT. </li></ul><ul><li>If none of these are given to me the next class, </li></ul><ul><li>then the student will be marked absent and </li></ul><ul><li>lose a point. </li></ul>
  5. 7. <ul><li>1. Be active: Participate in activities. </li></ul><ul><li>Cooperate with others. </li></ul><ul><li>2. Speak English: This is an English class. </li></ul><ul><li>Therefore, speak only English. If Korean is </li></ul><ul><li>used, points will be deducted. </li></ul><ul><li>3. Bring your textbook and supplies. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Cell phones must be turned off in class – it is distracting and against university policy to </li></ul><ul><li>have phones in class. </li></ul>

Writing Assignments- 10% <ul><li>There are 2 (two) written assignments this semester. </li></ul><ul><li>You will need to write 150-300 words about a topic that we will study. </li></ul><ul><li>I will give you the topic closer to the time. </li></ul><ul><li>You will submit the assignments via my blog. I will show you how to do this later. </li></ul>
  7. 9. Multi-ROM Homework: 10% <ul><li>With your book you (should) have a CD-ROM. </li></ul><ul><li>You need to do the homework that I set by a certain date. </li></ul><ul><li>Again, check the blog for more details later. </li></ul>
  8. 10. 2 Quizzes: 20% <ul><li>This semester there are only 2 quizzes, not 5! </li></ul><ul><li>They are each worth 10%. The dates of the quizzes are on your syllabus but I will remind you in class and on the blog. </li></ul>
  9. 11. Speaking mid-term: 20% Speaking final: 20% <ul><li>These are the biggies! 40% of your final grade. </li></ul><ul><li>I will tell you about the format for the mid-term and final later on in class and on the blog. </li></ul>
