From sleep aids like the new it bed by Sleep Number to devices that manage chronic pain like Quell to wearable medical alerts that announce when someone has “fallen and they can’t get u.” We’ve reached an mHealth tipping point. To be successful, these devices need to connect to a larger ecosytem. The critical question to ask now is “will my users use it” and not simply “can they use it”

The focus was on manufacturing, but these machines are already being used in healthcare - e.g., printing replacement body parts, tissue and medicines. This space continues to promise disruption in nearly every category; social, gaming, entertainment and health. The healthcare industry will certainly be watching this industry with keen interest as these incredible new vehicles begin to pop up at a car dealer near you.
