  3. 3. Welcome to OffersLook! Following this guide will get your new affiliate network up and running as soon as possible. General Information Dashboard is the central hub for viewing and managing your Affiliates, Offers, and real-time data: Volume Report shares a dynamic trending graph for the clicks, conversions, revenue and profits for you to make comparison and take action. Top/Bottom 10 Affiliates, Advertisers & Offers give you actionable figures for optimization. Featured Offers list offers that you highlight and recommend to your affiliates. Latest Offers highlights offers created lately for your affiliates' attention. XX www.offerslook.com 2
  4. 4. Accounts, Roles & Teams There’re 3 types of accounts on OffersLook: Admin, Advertiser Manager (ADM) and Affiliate Manager (AFM): Admin: Administrator of the system, who accesses all information and authorities of each module, and manage all employees on OffersLook ADM: Advertiser Manager who manages relationship with Advertiser and plays the role of the owner of an Offer in your system. AFM: Affiliate Managers who manages relationship with Affiliates and manage offer distribution to affiliates. Accounts are individual portals to access OffersLook, and they are cloaked in different Roles with certain permissions. Team is a tag where different roles cooperate their efforts under one organization unit. New Accounts, Roles and Teams can be added from the Account tab. You can create as many Accounts as you like and then assign different roles to individual users based on your organization requirement. There are 3 default Roles already set up (Admin, Affiliate Manager & Advertiser Manager) from which you can give different accounts specific roles or access to various items in the admin portal. Roles allows you to show or hide specific privileges within the OffersLook admin portal to users assigned to that role type. The Admin Role has all the permissions on OffersLook, while Advertiser Manager and Affiliate Managers have limited permissions in their own jurisdiction, thus any abuse of power is prevented. Global Roles are default roles from the system, which you may not modify, whereas any new role create by you is categorized as Private Role and you may edit it at a later time. www.offerslook.com 3
  5. 5. Create Roles Each role carries certain privileges, which is called “Permissions”. To create a role, you simply click the Create button under Roles tab in Accounts. You will then be prompted for the following information. Enter a Role Name and Description, and select the boxes of permissions. Each item in the “Permissions” is explained as follows: Offer Management: enables accounts to add edit or delete offers. Affiliate Management: enables Accounts to manage affiliates. Accounts can add or edit the affiliate accounts under their governance. Coupled with Report permission, the Account will have access to view all reports from his/her account. Account Management: provides access to managing Accounts and the privilege to add, edit, or delete Permissions of certain Accounts. Advertiser Management: enables Accounts to add or edit advertisers under their governance. Coupled with Report Permission, the Account can view stats for the advertisers under his/her governance. Global Management: allows any Account to view or edit all other Accounts, often used with Advertiser Management or Affiliate Management. Sole selection of this permission will only grant viewing access. Report Management: enables Accounts to view Reports tab and generate reports. Statistics of these reports also show on other pages. If an Account has Report Permission and Global Management permission, then the Account can view reports of all accounts. If an Account is just an affiliate manager or advertiser manager with the Report permission, then the Account can only view the report from his/her account. Allows accounts to see and use the Export to CSV button on reports XX www.offerslook.com 4
  6. 6. Create Teams One of the unique features in OffersLook is creating a team within your network organization. It virtually reflects the real organization structure, which allows you to have more than 2 levels of management. The protocol is to create a team first under “Team” tab in Accounts; the team name and description can be anything specific to your network or company. Multiple teams can be created to suit different organizational purpose. When creating an Account, you are prompted to select from a drop-down whether the account is a Team Leader; be advised that Team Leader is the leading member and shall have access to the team members’ Offers and reports. Profile Set-Up Profile stores your account profile. If you want to update your personal info, go to Account Setting at the top right corner. Only Admin is authorized to change your role. XX www.offerslook.com 5
  7. 7. Create Offer OffersLook hasn’t support Advertiser logging in with a sub-account to create their own offers, hence the Offer is currently created by ADM on behalf of Advertiser. Your role as ADM in an affiliate network is to manage Offers with an advertiser and make sure that the leads affiliates are driving are converting well. What is an Offer? One of the key components of your OffersLook network is "Offers": promotions of your products or services to which your affiliates drive traffic to receive payout. Before affiliates can run any traffic in your network, they need Offers to promote. To start, move your mouse to the “Offers” menu, click on “Create”. Once on the Create Offer page, you'll do 3 things: (1) enter details about your offer; (2) place the Offer conversion pixel; and (3) finally test your offer. This tutorial walks through entering essential details important to every offer: www.offerslook.com 6
  8. 8. Add Offer Details The first step is entering the standard Offer details. Name: name of the product or service being offered Advertiser: name of the advertiser who creates Offers to market product or service for marketing. Select an Advertiser from the drop-down list, or you have to create one. Category: a customized category you choose for the offer, usually the vertical of the product or service, such as “Utility”, “Games”, and “Entertainment” etc. Duration: the period during which your Offer goes live Status: the status of the Offer after creation: pending, active or paused Pricing Type: how advertiser pays for the offers: CPA, CPC, CPS, CPI, etc. Preview URL: a URL that shows a preview of the Offer, or the landing page; no tracking pixel is installed on the URL Destination URL: The URL address of the page that people reach when they click your ad; this page contains your parameters and will not display on your ads Revenue: the dollar amount you receive from the advertisers/merchants for one promotion unit Payout: the dollar amount of cost you pay your affiliates or publishers Description: detailed description of the product or service, usually an important note for your affiliates on the conversion requirement of an offer Offer Approval: the option to set the Offer to Require Approval, Public or Private for internal use Set Restrictions www.offerslook.com 7
  9. 9. Push Allowed: option to allow traffic garnered through push marketing methods Incent Allowed: option to allow incentivized traffic Adult Allowed: option to allow adult or pornographic traffic Caps Type: option to set caps in Offer by total or daily clicks/conversions, or by total budget Daily Cap: the maximum number of daily clicks/conversions of the Offer Conversion Cap: the maximum number of conversions of the Offer for a set period. Budget Cap: the maximum budget for the clicks/conversions of the Offer for a set period. The Cap Type corresponds with the payout model selected for the offer. For example, if you choose a CPA pricing type, you will only be able to set cap on the total or daily conversations, but the cap on total or daily clicks will be greyed out. Geographic & Device Targeting Geographic Targeting: option to target specific or multiple locations globally Platform Targeting: option to target specific or multiple mobile platforms, divided by mobile or tablet categorized down to each OS version released www.offerslook.com 8
  10. 10. Add Creative Files Creative files: maximum 10 additional creative materials including all types of images or ZIP compressed file Once everything is set, click the “Create” button to complete Offer Creation. Hover over the “Offers” tab and select “Offers”, and use the drop-down menu to select “Pending”. Select the pending Offer’s name and click “edit” next to the Offer ID. Verify/complete the offer. Before you change the “Pending” status to “Active”, test your Offer to make sure the tracking links work and the advertiser tracking pixel is placed properly. Once confirmed, change the status to “Active”. The advertiser’s Offer can now be seen by your affiliates and is ready for traffic. Offer Search & Filter After Offer is created, OffersLook provides a complete list of offers on your network and a quick view of each profile status. Search for a specific Offer by using the Search box or sort your list of them by any criteria. There are also columns for stats showing the Advertiser, Category, Offer Status, Traffic Type, Conversions and Geographic. www.offerslook.com 9
  11. 11. Offer Timer If you have some offers that you frequently turn on and off for optimization, then this feature significantly reduces the amount of time and work it takes to manually activate or pause an Offer. Offer Timer eliminates the need for you to go through a forest of Offers to activate or pause them at your hours of inconvenience. The next time you log onto Offerslook, system notification will remind you about the changes already made. Offer Timer is available for all your offers and can be found inside the clock icon to the right of each offer under Offer menu. How to use the Offer Timer: 1) Turn on Offer Timer by clicking the clock icon of a specific offer. 2) In the pop-up menu, select Activate or Pause action, and your desired date and time. 3) Click Save to schedule the change. www.offerslook.com 10
  12. 12. Postback Workflow for Affiliate Inside Offers you can generate tracking links for affiliates. Affiliates that have access to these offers will have functionality to see the tracking link on their end. Within OffersLook, data is traced using Server to Server Pixel (S2S), or “Postback URL” a cookie-less tracking method. 1) Add a Global Postback for Affiliate Global conversion pixels and Postback URLs for Affiliates can be added from “Offer” tab. To place the affiliate conversion pixel or Postback URL global, select "Conversion Pixel" from the drop-down menu. Then complete the rest of the page by specifying the type and code or URL. Any conversion pixel or Postback URL placed for All Offers will be loaded for any conversion for the specified affiliate. Only Admin or AFM can add global conversion and Postback URLs from their interface, so affiliates must submit their global pixels to be setup by them. Unlike Affiliate-specific Postback, Global Postback does not need testing. 2) Implement Affiliate Postback(S2S) Below are the steps for Affiliate Manager to implement Postback for individual affiliates a) To start, Affiliates will generate a Postback URL with their unique identifier; an example URL comes as follows: http://affiliatetrackingdomain.com/track.php?aff_sub1={affiliate_unique_identifie} b) Affiliate Manager then replaces {affiliate_unique_identifier} with their corresponding unique identifier, such as {transaction id}. The URL can even carry on a string of extra parameters depending on their need. http://affiliatetrackingdomain.com/postback.php?your_unique_identifier={aff_sub1} Additionally, there are a number of affiliate network parameters that can be passed through the Postback URL: XX www.offerslook.com 11
  13. 13. {click_id} Unique identifier for each click event {offer_id} Offer ID {country_id} Country ID {aff_id} Affiliate ID {aff_sub1}- {aff_sub5} Affiliate’s customized parameters {source_id} Affiliate sub channel ID {ip} IP Address of Customer/User {payout} Payout for Click/Conversion c) Then this postback should be passed back to affiliates for implementation from their end; a successful implementation would means every time click or conversion is reported, Offerslook will fire back {affiliate_unique_identifier} using aff_sub1 as the identifier. 3) Create Individual Affiliate Postback If you, as Affiliate Manager, want to track conversions in an affiliate’s tracking system, you must add a third-party tracking pixel. Run your cursor over the "Offer" tab and select "Conversion Pixels/URLs", then hit "Create” button. Select the Affiliate and Offer you wish to track, and paste the Affiliate Postback into the code section, along with your own parameters and hit “Create” button to finish. www.offerslook.com 12
  14. 14. 4) Affiliate Postback Testing When you place an affiliate pixel/Postback to be fired on conversion, it’s crucial that the pixel is tested to make sure both systems are tracking well before offers go live. Testing affiliate pixels & Postback is a quick and easy process, all you need is the Affiliate’s tracking link from their system to do a proper test to ensure that the conversions are showing up on their end. The Affiliate will have to provide this tracking link for you, which is known as test link; OffersLook has Test Conversion Report for comparison to see the result of the testing efforts. After the test when all the responses look good, the affiliate will now have to confirm whether the conversion is recorded on their end. If so, and all the values are passed correctly, then you can then remove the added “test” parameter from the tracking link and Affiliate’s pixel/Postback is ready to go live on their end. www.offerslook.com 13
  15. 15. Advertiser Management Before creating your first offer, you would benefit from setting up your network, entering advertisers into your network, and creating Offer categories. Once Advertiser information is registered, it will later appear in drop-down menu for selection whether you are creating offers or assigning new payouts. Adding Advertiser Now hover over to “Advertisers” tab and select Advertiser; “Create” button appears on your right. OffersLook helps you keep a directory of advertisers or employees from ad agencies with Offers. Search for a specific Advertiser by using keywords, their Advertiser Manager, or Advertiser Status. To see or modify the details of a specific advertiser, click on the name or ID. Advertiser Postback & Tracking The ADM in an affiliate network will send Postback URLs to Advertiser for set-up, so as to properly receive notification of clicks for newly created offers. http://yourdomainname.offerstrack.net/advBack.php?click_id={click_id}&adv_id=XXX ADM provides Advertiser with the above Postback link for implementation of their tracking link; this Postback URL is universal for other offers, although the Advertiser ID (ADV ID) will be different per advertiser. If there are existing offers, simply log into the Offer panel and click on an existing offer; and one will be forwarded to the Offer detail page where Postback URL is visible. www.offerslook.com 14
  16. 16. The next step for ADM is to create a Test Offer on OffersLook for testing purpose. However, ADM does not have the access to generate tracking link. It’s either the Admin or AFM who will generate a tracking link for some affiliate, and then add “&test=2” parameter at the end of the tracking link, for proper differentiation and reporting. Eventually this tracking link is passed to Advertiser. Advertiser then begins the testing on their end and ADM will now have to confirm whether the conversion is recorded on their end. ADM will go to Test Conversion tab under Report Menu to see whether all the values are passed correctly. The process will be over when ADM modifies offer status from pending to active, making it go live. www.offerslook.com 15
  17. 17. Affiliate Management As the leading affiliate tracking solution, OffersLook allows thousands of networks and advertisers around the world to track and manage their own publisher and affiliate relationships. Affiliate Payout allows for a clear view on existing individual payouts to affiliates. Adding Affiliates Go to “Affiliate” header and select “Affiliate” tab, enter the required information and hit “Create”. Once created, it will show up alongside the comprehensive list of all existing affiliates under your account. Approving Affiliates OffersLook provides a complete list of affiliates that have signed up for your network and a quick view of each affiliate's statistics. Go to “Pending Affiliate” where an ongoing list of any new signed-up affiliate will be pending approval. Searching Affiliates Search for a specific affiliate by using the Search box or sort your list of affiliates by any criteria. After you click on the Affiliate ID, there’re also columns for stats showing number of clicks, conversions, cost, revenue, and profit for that affiliate along with the number of Offers that the affiliate has stats for that time period. To see the details of a specific affiliate, click on the affiliate name or ID. Setting Custom Affiliate Payout The default payout in the offer will normally suffice, but there are also cases when you might have an elite affiliate that you want to incentivize by offering a better payout. If you want to set a custom payout for certain affiliates, Offerslook has a section Affiliate Payout in the Affiliate menu. XX www.offerslook.com 16
  18. 18. Click ‘Create’ at the top right of the page, and on the next page select the affiliate from the dropdown. You will then see a set of fields, as well as the default payout on the right. If you want to just have a custom payout for the affiliate, type in the new value in the Current Payout field and click ‘Create’ at the bottom. Keep in mind that the payout and revenue type will stay the same for the custom payout. Note: Adding a custom payout for an affiliate will not update previous conversions to the new payout retroactively, this will only apply to conversions going forward. Once the custom payout has been added to the offer, you can see it show up every time you access Affiliate Payout tab under Affiliate menu. If you want to update the affiliate’s payout later on, you can simply click on the value in the table cell and edit it there. Click on the floating window to apply the new change. www.offerslook.com 17
  19. 19. Reporting This section provides an overview of the concepts that you will apply when you collect, view, and analyze Offer performance. Checking how users interact with advertising is the crucial element of performance marketing, and everyone in this business needs a clear idea of how it works. How Report is Generated Tracking is how advertisers notify networks and affiliates that a user brought to an Offer has completed the advertiser’s goal – downloaded and opened a mobile app, bought an item or service from a web store, filling out a lead generation form, and so on. OffersLook measures the following 3 indicators: Conversion: happens when a user follows through with the desired action, such as making a purchase, downloading and opening a mobile app, or filling out a survey Click: happens when a user engages your offer, by clicking, tapping, and so on. When the user clicks on the offer, they’re sent to OffersLook, which records information about the click and then forwards the user to the Offer URL supplied by the advertiser. OffersLook records the following data points for each CLICK: Offer ID that identifies which Offer on your network is clicked on Aff ID of the affiliate that click came from Time of the click Browser or Mobile Device information: type, version, operative system, and so on Affiliate Parameters, known as "affiliate sub IDs" Once that information is recorded, OffersLook generates a CLICK ID: a unique identifier that links clicks to potential conversions. When the user completes the action, the advertiser sends the conversion info. to OffersLook, through a pixel on a page the user sees or internally through what's known as a Postback. OffersLook records the following points of data for each CONVERSION: That session's Click ID and that offer's Off ID Time of the Conversion Advertiser Parameters, known as "advertiser sub IDs" Our intelligently designed dashboard already highlights key data in fantastic graphics and customized view, but there are 2 types of layered report under the “Report” tab: XX XX www.offerslook.com 18
  20. 20. General Report General Report allows user to set frequently-used data points, and generate reports with just one click. Export all the data to CSV files. You can run deeper analysis out from these files. The General Report shows derived insight instead of CTR, CVR, eCPM. The report aggregates your data by click date/time or install date/time per Offer across time-zones, so you can analyze your data in depth. Conversion Report OffersLook links the full click and conversion data together, allowing you to see what affiliate stats coordinate with which conversions. This reveals what affiliates, and offers are outperforming others, letting you tailor your efforts and spending to better results. Conversion Report returns Offer name, affiliate, affiliate manager, advertiser, advertiser manager, date time, status, payout/cost, revenue, click IP address, affiliate sub ID1, affiliate sub ID 2, affiliate sub ID 3, affiliate sub ID 4, affiliate sub ID 5, country. Results are then filtered between start and end dates. Custom Reports Without the Custom Report function under General Report and Conversion Report, you might be wasting a lot of effort in trying to multi-select the desired parameters underneath to gain insight into which channels and partners are driving the most installs, and also which installs are higher in quality. With the Custom Report, you can generate your specific reports more efficiently and www.offerslook.com 19
  21. 21. effectively pay more attention to your ROI: now you also have the data readily available every time you want to substantiate your decision to stop buying clicks and installs from a certain partner while increasing ad spend with another partner. Because of the extensive parameters and filters supported by OffersLook reporting analytics, this feature simplifies the process of running a report and saves your duplicate effort. 1) Click on the Custom Report that you want to apply; there are up to five Custom Reports for your defining. 2) Move your mouse to check the boxes of Duration, Indicators, Offer, Country, Advertiser, Advertiser Manager, Affiliate, Affiliate Manager, Status, Timezone, Range, and Report Duration; these would be the parameters to be filtered for your specific report. 3) Save the Report by hitting the Save Custom Report button that appears after parameters are properly selected. 4) Move your mouse to the Action button, and rename the Report as you deem fit. www.offerslook.com 20
