1. 1. THE COMPLETE SOLUTION FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY MEASUREMENT IN MAIN METERING & SUBMETERING Branch Feeder Monitor BFM136 part of SATEC’s complete solution for electric energy metering and power quality monitoring
    2. 2. YESTERDAY & TOMORROW
    3. 3. BFM136

Monitors up to 12 three-phase channels or 36 single-phase channels, or any combination of both.

This flexibility makes the BFM136/036 especially suitable for multi-tenant facilities, such as residential projects, office buildings and shopping malls, academic campuses, medical centers and high-energy industries.

    4. 4. BFM136 & eXpertpower TM

Combined with eXpertpower TM , the BFM136 is the ideal solution for total management of electrical energy systems in residential, commercial and industrial sites.

This solution provides a system for: monitoring energy, data analysis, billing and for verifying the quality and reliability of electric systems.

    5. 5. THE SMART BUILDING

Characteristic structure of smart buildings demanding a solution for electric energy metering and monitoring the quality of supplied electricity:

A complex of office buildings, shopping malls and hi-tec industry.

Ground floors: Parking

Lower floors: shops & restaurants

Upper floors: offices & hi-tec industry

Such complexes typically characterizes by lack customer service for energy metering as well as the necessary for technical support.

    6. 6. PRIVATE ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

The site gets 22kV medium voltage input from electricity supplier which is transfer to each transformer room.

In each transformer room 4.0/22kV transformers are distributing electricity to each customer.

Transfer electricity to parking lots.

Transfer electricity to air conditioning system, chillers to offices and cooling towers to ground floors.

Transfer electricity to public areas, lighting, elevators, ventilating system.

Transfer electricity to electrical panels for private consumers on the higher floors.

Generators that provide electricity to vital systems in the project.

    7. 7. ELECTRICAL METERING

A.M.R. electrical metering system in the project needs to fulfill the following functions:

TOU (time off use) electricity bill for consumers of the project according to Regulator standards.

Cost of electrical consumption of the various chillers.

Cost of electrical consumption of the chilling tower system.

Cost of electrical consumption of the parking lots.

Monthly, quarterly and annual energy balance sheet.

Alarms systems for errors in electrical consumption records.

Power quality monitoring as a result of problematic consumers.

    8. 8. ELECTRICAL METERING

Customer service network.

Charges file for accounting.

Technical service for metering and software networks – existing and new.

Providing the opportunity to evaluate potential savings in electrical energy.

Optimal operation of generators at demand times according to the arrangement made with the Public Service Authority – IEC.

Fulfillment of international standards including model tests in an authorized laboratory.

    9. 9. SOFTWARE: PAS - READING

PAS advanced analysis software for Windows-based communication with all SATEC instruments.

Performs harmonics & disturbance analyses, data collection and instrument installation and programming.

Communication options: Direct internet connection or via modem.

    10. 10. SOFTWARE: TOU - BILLING

TOU software collects TOU data from SATEC models capable of TOU energy data collection, such as BFM136, PM171, PM172 and PM296.

Provide electrical Bills according to the regulator standards.

    11. 11. and

Reports generated by TOU:

Electricity TOU bills for periods defined by user (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or other reports), including TOU energy consumption in KWH and MANY, additional payment for low POWER FACTOR (if relevant), PEAK DEMAND data for selected time periods and MANY CONSUMTION.

TOU consumption profile: Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Yearly Reports.

    12. 12. eXpertpower TM
    13. 13. eXpertpower TM

Data-based system fully equipped with the optimal technology for data collection, processing and display via the internet.

System structure:

Data collection

Data base

Web servers

Provide servers for running operation (mail, firewall, additional data analysis, report servers, survivable, monitoring, etc.)

    14. 14. EXAMPLE: METERING SYSTEM LAYOUT

Each power meter can be connected to ETC2002 via RS485 communication. The meters and measuring instruments can be divided into several areas. ETC2002 will send the data to a computer and/or to eXpertpower TM .

Each meter has a secondary communication output (COM2), for transferring data to additional systems. Available outputs: RS485, RS232, telephone modem, cellular modem or TCP/IP.

Some of the meters have digital and analog inputs and outputs, so that data from water meters with pulse outputs can be read by the system. In any case a monitor can be connected to the system to receive readings from the water meters.

    15. 15. SATEC’s Technical Offer

To install on the high voltage input of the IEC model PM296 that can issue TOU billing in order to check the bills of the IEC and monitor the quality of electricity supplied by the IEC.

To install model PM172EH on the low voltage outputs of the transformers in order to balance the energy and check the quality of power due to problematic consumers of the project.

To install model PM172E at the outputs of the generators.

To install a multi channel BFM136 for commercial consumers, to be completed with the help of single channel PM130 or PM172E.

To install a communication network and connect it to a central computer and/or to the eXpertpower TM internet site through the communications converter ETC2002.

To use a reading and billing software and/or internet site in order to control, issue electric bills, monitor power quality, operate generators and provide alarms for faulty readings of electricity consumption.

    16. 16. System Operations Options

The customer has a number of options for operation :

Self operation following initial instructions of SATEC’s technicians using the reading software PAS that reads consumer data and controls power quality and using PAS software supplied with the instruments at no charge. TOU software can be purchased from SATEC at a reasonable cost.

Self management of the system using the on-line service of eXpertPower.

For commercial consumers, purchasing from SATEC the billing service. SATEC’s professional staff will provide electric bills directly to the customer and frees the entrepreneur from the need to operate a software and hardware system.

All SATEC products are under warranty for 3 years. If the warranty expires, additional years can be purchased.
