Demonstrate and use various reading and viewing strategies to find meaning in written texts, especially scanning and sifting. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2. Work out the meaning of new and unfamiliar words by using a range of techniques. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  Read and respond to written, visual, multimedia texts and nonverbal forms of communication for a variety of purposes. </li></ul><ul><li>And, in particular, you will have learnt to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>1. Record information from texts according to purpose of text. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2. Interpret and explain directions. </li></ul></ul>

Understand the requirement and plan for specific writing tasks, especially: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>functional writing </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>personal writing </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2. Identify main ideas and support with information relating to the purpose and context. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>3. Select a layout and format that is appropriate to purpose and context of writing task. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>4. Use appropriate language and grammar structures. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Use grammatical structures to produce writing that is grammatically correct. </li></ul><ul><li>And, in particular, you will have learnt to </li></ul><ul><ul><li>1.
