October Astrology Forecast plus so much more

  1. 1. October Astrology Forecast plus so much more October Astrology ForecastThe primary planetary news this month is Saturn moving into Scorpio on October 5th. Thistakes us to the emotional depths for cleansing and healing. Sadly, some of the less thanpositive aspects of this shift started coming in with violent demonstrations over the Mohammedfilm trailer that offended Muslims. It is not that the movie short caused the violence, but ittriggered deep emotions within people of that faith. Saturn in Scorpio has a good sidetoo. You eliminate that which is no longer needed so you can be more powerful puttingyour energy into that which remains. Beyond that, October looks to be a fairly smooth.October 1-6: On Tuesday, Venus moves into efficient Virgo until October 28th, so this is atime to get organized. Beautify your home, buy practical fall clothes, or cleanse your kidneys.Thursday through Saturday are more intense, so allow extra space in your life.Jupiter turns retrograde on Thursday until late January, so take a prophetic look aheadnow to see what you need to prepare for next spring. This gives you time to get ready forthe next expansion in your life. On Friday, Saturn begins a two year journey through Scorpio(see fall quarterly column). Deep feelings and dirty politics are up now. Although many peopledo not like the restrictive side of Saturn, he does help you put constructive effort into long termplans with future reward. Remember not to take life too seriously! On Saturday, Mars entersSagittarius until November16th. Isn’t it time for an adventure?Mark DodichHoroscopes | Week of October 1-7, 2012ARIES (March 21-April 19): Four planets changing signs this week, Aries, is your celestialsignal that a major shift is in the air… and, for you, I believe it points to a progression away fromprolonged (and potentially painful) processing and toward purifying resolution. In other words,it’s time to aim your arrow up and out of the mud. You’ve given this challenging circumstancean earnest shot, scraped its more rotten bits off the bottom in an attempt to save its underlyingstructure, taken part in awkward or unpleasant conversation… basically, fought for the survivalof a certain arrangement. What more can be done? You certainly can’t sign away much moreof your life on being stuck, paralyzed, and/or halfway underwater. You’ve got to be ableto get beyond here—whether (1) by agreeing to let bygones be gone and, together, committing toa wholly new dynamic, underscored by an still-unbroken sense of shared purpose, or (2) by 1/9
  2. 2. cutting your own losses and reestablishing yourself in a less stifling, more independentframework. In either case, your road to this beyond-here place will be bumpy, no doubt. Butwhat’ll determine which bumpy road to take is fairly simple: Which one leads more efficientlyand effectively to where you want to go?TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Reemerging after a passing respite (though ‘respite’ perhapsisn’t the right word, since your moments away weren’t necessarily restful), you’re ready toreacquaint the key players with your opinions and desires. In case anybody has forgotten howpersonally invested you are in certain developments unfolding according to your specified style,Taurus, I suppose it’s time to remind them. Of course, if it seems to other participants thatyou’ve magically reappeared from a relative absence and are now strongly laying down thelaw, they may wonder where you’ve been this whole time (while they’ve been conscientiouslyholding down the fort)—and therefore might not take so kindly to your tone, if it strikes them asoverly commanding or too hierarchically top-down. You are not wrong to want to assert yourguidance, especially if you view this whole thing as your‘baby’. Please take care your close-upattention doesn’t blind you to either the experiential knowledge or the sincere concerns of yourteammates. You have relationships with each involved individual… and your success in guidingthese next developments directly hinges on the respectfulness you practice in each and everyone.GEMINI (May 21-June 20): A newly refreshed and refreshing productivity in how you’rethinking, Gemini, could be in jeopardy due to an impromptu threat of interpersonal conflict… if,that is, you fall reactively prey to the rather black-and-white interpretation of a potentiallycontentious situation being put forth by another party. While your understanding is typicallymore nuanced than that, it wouldn’t be surprising if the suddenness with which this situation(and/or this contentious individual) confronts you brings out your least considered side. Yet,should you catch yourself before you’re already too far in to reserve your reactivity, you areunder no obligation to actually participate. As I said, you’ve got more productive items toconcern yourself with—as well as a temporarily enhanced ability to come up with workableinitiatives that’ll carry you further toward your goals. Upsetting conflicts or confrontations thatget you all fired up, alas, will only consume large parts of that productive mental energy for fairlyunproductive purposes. (In fact, you’ll probably hold on to the upsetting after-effects far longerthan the other party.) Maybe staying closer to home and/or your desk will help you avoidanybody hunting for an energy-release at your expense… and keep you on productive track.CANCER (June 21-July 22): As social energies pick up and your presence is more widelydesired, Cancer, please be aware of how important it is to most actively participate in that which 2/9
  3. 3. you enjoy the most… and to prioritize your leisure-time appointments based directly on yourpersonal preferences, as opposed to any misguided sense of obligation to acquaintances youfeel bad for. You aren’t helping anybody by hanging with them out of pity or fear of hurting theirfeelings; you’re merely bringing along an energy of ‘caring’ that’s simultaneously somewhatcondescending. And all the while, you’re filling your precious fun-hours with activities you don’tnecessarily find ‘fun’. That sure sounds like a lose-lose situation to me. Increasingly over thesecoming months, you will find yourself growing ever sicker of going through motions in yoursocial life… as well as becoming worse and worse at faking your pleasure in instances whenyou’d rather be doing something else. I suggest expressing gratitude for this last detail, since‘faking’anything isn’t usually seen as a worthy pathway to greater self-fulfillment. Obviouslesson: If you’d rather be doing something else, then please do that something else. Thosesupposed friends you’ll be disappointing? They’ll live.LEO (July 23-August 22): An outward focus will not get the real job done, Leo. Even as we canagree that other people’s impressions do matter to some degree, anybody else’s relativeacceptance of you—which is always based on the partial impressionistic flashes you paint fortheir viewing pleasure—is ultimately secondary to whether you’re okay with yourself. In thatlight, then, occupying yourself too insistently with attempts to mend fences, reach consensus,and/or make a deal with another individual is already something of a distraction. I’m not sayingyou ought to be totally alone right now; yet, it’d probably behoove you to make the same kindsof decisions you would if you were alone. It’s much harder to assess the rightness of anintention or endeavor based purely on whether it feels right to you than to first see whether itpleases the person(s) you seek to please and then proceeding on that impression. You’ll haveto sort through the misplaced voices of past critics that reside in your head to even get to yourown gut-truths… and this is not an overnight process. In the meantime, you’ve got a chance toexuberantly show off a side of yourself you are pretty confident about. Please take fulladvantage of that, while understanding its immediately enjoyable rewards are not enough tototally save you from this longer-term work.VIRGO (August 23-September 22): By midweek, happy-lady Venus will make it to your sign,Virgo… and, along with a few other planetary sign-shifts, should usher in a mood that’s fairlydistinct from what you’ve lately been contending with. To be more specific, you’re far likelier tobe on the receiving end of desirable and/or otherwise pleasant reactions from people who, justa week or two earlier, weren’t giving you much to work with. In order to take fullest advantageof this climate-change, however, I recommend you consciously foster a patient willingness to(re-)open lines of communication in situations where you might’ve made prematureassumptions about somebody’s thinking (due, perhaps, to your wanting a very particularoutcome fairly quickly). This go-around, due to your Venus-improved likability, you’ll actuallywant to take your time with the interaction, rather than rushing head-on toward any certainoutcome. The longer you spend with someone, developing a collaborative rhythm to the 3/9
  4. 4. dialogue, the more resonantly they’ll start vibing with you—and once the rapport is bettersolidified, they may be quite happy to grant you the favor of agreement. While your inner idealistmay wish to believe your desired outcome should speak its own appeal without personalitieshaving to come into play, the current reality makes this more a relationship issue.LIBRA (September 23-October 22): Giving props to ‘the best of intentions’ is totally kind andconsiderate of you. Yet, the amount of free rein you bestow upon anyone—whether it’s thestruggling individual you adore despite the tough odds, the bumbling-but-sweet boss who isn’tadequately fostering your career development, the fun-loving friend who disappointingly can’tbe counted on, or your own fear-frozen self—based on their supposed intentions is quicklyshrinking to short supply. More and more, Libra, you need to see results in order to defend anyongoing expenditure of your personal energy. Nothing personal; just a rationally-mindedanalysis of where your resources are going, and whether they’re being utilized in a manner thatreplenishes the pot. I know, I know: ‘nothing personal’ is easier said than done. Butsometimes, difficult choices with very personalconsequences are what’s called for, if we’rethinking about what’s practically needed to keep all the different facets of our lives in relativebalance. I would make one more valiant effort to communicate your expectation of seeingtangible results to back up those ‘best of intentions’, expressing a newfound seriousness withregards to your willingness to act if the expectation isn’t met… which, hopefully, you can deftlyphrase so it doesn’t sound ultimatum-ish (even if it kind of is).SCORPIO (October 23-November 21): The week ahead is incredibly significant for youScorpios because it marks the entry of taskmaster Saturn into your sign, where he’ll staythrough the end of 2014. Since this is a longer-term and farther-reaching transit which onlyaffects you for 2-to-3 out of every 30 years, naturally we won’t be covering its entirety in asingle week’s horoscope. Yet, with Mercury also entering Scorpio alongside Saturn, it seemsan especially apt moment for articulating the kind of person you seek to be… as well aswhichever current aspects of your life are conspicuouslyimpeding upon your realizing thatvision-of-self. Often, you Scorpios are your own worst enemies in this regard, thanks to yourvoluntary tendency to make life considerably more difficult or complicated for yourself—mainlyout of an investigative impulse to see how far a situation needs to go to hit its logical (thoughextreme) conclusion, so you don’t miss out on any of it. This is not a critique of such behavior,by the way, since the experience you gain in the process is fundamental to developing yourdeep interpersonal wisdom. However, once Saturn shows up, he asks you to accept you can’tdo everything you want to do and do it all in such an all-the-way manner. Time and energy areboth resources with built-in limitations. The question then becomes: Do you concentrate morefully on one or two priorities you can’t seem to moderate your involvement with, atthe conscious expense of everything else? Or do you learn more about moderation, to enableyourself to enjoy a broader range of involvements? This question will prove unavoidable in thecoming months. Might as well start tackling it now. 4/9
  5. 5. SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21): Too much additional negotiation or discussionwill actually detract from the strength of your position, Sagittarius. Based on the clarity you’vealready attained over the past few weeks, you basically know everything you need to know toconclusively proceed as best serves your intent. Any waiting to act should now be over. Thosethreatened by your obvious capabilities (and/or by the difference between your wants andtheirs) may try to play to your psychological hot-spots, talking up the worst-case potential pitfallswhich might arise as a result of your continuing onward as you intend. There is no newinformation here… just a dirtier method meant to stir your fears, so you’ll pass up yourchance ata power move and protect their existing standing. That’s why I’m actively discouraging you fromfurthering the talks: The rightfulness of your thinking up until now, if it was indeed based inprinciples you cherish and/or seek to uphold, ought not to change because someone (with avery particular stake in the matter, I might add) attempts to convince you. Remaining relativelyquiet and unwavering under such pressure is far harder than picking back up the conversationor mouthing off in righteous annoyance. Good boundaries are called for.CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19): Keep a cautious eye on any persuasive peers orcolleagues who seem to be leading you into conversational disclosures or gossip-sessions youaren’t especially comfortable with participating in, Capricorn. You should know better than to letanyone else’s fast lips lure you into crossing ethical bounds—with unfortunate consequencesnot likely to reveal themselves for a few weeks—just because they are unusually curious to pullinformation out of you. Watch for motives: If they are a sincere ally, they’ll be content witheasing up once they sense your discomfort (or, if you want to eliminate confusion from theequation altogether, once you explicitly tell them you’re not comfortable). But if they continuepushing the point or attempting to reengage their inquiry using a different side-door tactic, they’ve revealed their true-blue interest is more in using you than supporting you. Here’s thething, though: I wouldn’t make a big stink out of it, should you conclude this certain someonedoesn’t seem to have your back. Taking decisive action to officially break off an alliance isn’tespecially favored, as much as internally accepting this knowledge and subtly planning for yourfuture accordingly. For the next several weeks, expect to observe plenty of others’ decisiveactions being taken… while you collect the data and arrange your eventual response-strategy.AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18): You’re just barely at the starting-gate of a ‘make it orbreak it’ moment in your career (and/or public-world investment), Aquarius, courtesy ofSaturn’s arrival in your solar 10th for a two-plus-year stay… but the time is already ripe topublicly take concrete responsibility for steering your ambitions where you feel they need to go.You must assume authority for asking yourself some difficult questions: Am I achieving what Iset out to do? Are my long-term goals still relevant, or are they in need of some updating 5/9
  6. 6. revisions? Where has my stubbornness gotten in my way? Have I been realistic in assessingmy abilities, or must I shift gears toward a role better suited to my unique assets and liabilities?Am I working hard enough? Or too hard? While the deepest-and-truest answers are not likely toemerge in just a week or two, you’re presently well-positioned to receive supporting informationthat’ll help you see the light—both from apparent admirers and would-be critics. On the criticalfront, pay special attention to any uncomplimentary feedback you receive, discerning itsrelevance based on who it’s coming from. Criticism received from friends, like-mindedcolleagues, or members of a community you belong to (or wish to belong to) should be treatedconstructively, even if it wasn’t phrased in such a manner. Criticism from outside yourcommunity, from adversaries or envious competitors, can be ignored or seen as flattery.Meanwhile, admirers who express interest in collaborating with you should be seen as a positivesymbol from the universe… though I’d wait a couple weeks before inking any deals.PISCES (February 19-March 20): Moving forward means not getting hooked on any leftoverbarbs from the past-two-weeks’ touchier interactions… and instead fixing your eye onwhat really matters to you, regardless of whether any certain individual or entity shares yoursame meaningful priorities. Do not get caught looking downward, Pisces, staring regretfully atsteps you wish you wouldn’t have taken or obsessing on wounds or scars already inflicted andon their way to healing. Look up ahead, where the entire rest of your life is going to be lived. That’s the field where you still hold power to do things differently. You may have to be firm withyourself, refusing to participate in either glorifying your past or reliving the trauma, in order todistinctly align with the unimpeded vibration of manifesting newness. One fortunate aspect atyour disposal: Venus is entering your relationship house (the 7th) for a few weeks’ stay, whichpromises you additional support and camaraderie from those folks who really do want to seeyou thrive as you’d so choose. Just as the negative influence(s) drag you down into the mudwith them, these positively-minded supporters will fluff up your confidence and help you releasethe unwelcome hangover from recent unpleasantries. Make a number of dates to be loved bythe ones that love you.Monday October 1 – Moon Meditation: “I am back on track… !”Moon in Aries: As the Moon moves through Aries, Mars moves through Scorpio towards a link 6/9
  7. 7. to the Nodes. This is quite powerful astrology in its own way. Where in your life do you knowyou need to make a better connection with someone? Where could you be more pro-activeabout sorting out any issues? Where in your life are you being lazy and staying well within yourcomfort zone when pushing outside of it could be just the thing?Astrology Forecast for October 2012 Ok, gold miners! It’s time to put on yourhelmets, grab your pickaxes, turn on your headlamps and prepare to tunnel down intothe bowels of your psycho-spiritual reality and find that gold! Make sure you have enoughprovisions; you may need an oxygen tank, as the air gets pretty thin down there, and you willneed to practice deep breathing, and hopefully you have gotten enough rest, as the expeditionmay be long and arduous. The month of October may not be the month you have been waitingfor but as a gold miner your unconscious boss has decided that it is. It will be important tokeep in mind that it has been proven that there actually is gold down there at the end ofthe tunnel, and that you will return to the light of day in a state of joy, abundance, andprosperity bringing back to those that you love your newfound treasure, power, andmaturity. All the astrological aspects are too numerous to mention, but some are worth stating for thoseinterested in applying them to their personal charts. Both Saturn and Mercury enter Scorpio onthe 5th to join the Moon’s north node (and the Sun after the 22nd), until Mercury emerges intoSagittarius on the 28th. From the 2nd to the 28th, Venus will transit Virgo while Mars shifts fromScorpio to Sagittarius on the 6th. Lastly, we will all be feeling a shift (that really began with thefull Moon on the last weekend of September!) in the first week of this month with Mercury,Venus, Mars, and Saturn all changing signs, while Jupiter stations/retrograde on the 4th.To put this all into a broader perspective, we are ending the 2000 year Age of Pisces, sleeping, dreamy, hoping, and praying and entering into the Age of Aquarius, theawakened, liberated, fully conscious, “enlightened one”. Let’s associate this age withPrometheus, the mythological light-bearer who stole fire from the gods and descended to earth 7/9
  8. 8. to “enlighten” humanity. These mythological figures all symbolize archetypes of the humanunconscious, meaning that we all have a Prometheus in us, and he is now awakening to takeeach of us out of the dreamy cosmic realm and down to earth, Gaia, our physical, personal, rootself. This delving down from the heights of our spiritual home (Crown chakra/Neptune) to thebase/root chakra (Pluto/Scorpio) may feel like a crucifixion, death, descent into the darkness ofseparation, yet in the long run may be seen as our task to actively participate in co-creatingheaven on earth (starting with unconditional loving of our total self). So this month will present us with opportunities, which we may label as threatening, dangerous, unfair, or unreal. Situations, events, and people that challenge us to see ourweaknesses, our faults, our projections, basically, our unconscious patterns that areburied so deep we cannot recognize them ourselves but need the objective, outsideworld to mirror them back to us. One response is the initial“NO, that’s not me/mine!That’s you/yours!”, quickly followed by the fight/flight response in an attempt to avoid it,ignore it, and hope it goes away so our lives will return to “normal” and we avoid the change. Itwill take all the courage of the spiritual warrior within us to remain in the depths of the inferno asour new self is getting forged by the fires of spirit (in this case – “the other”). The feelings of helplessness, powerlessness, futility, and despair will signal that we are facing old, deep wounds in ourselves, and inthe collective that go back generations, even millennium, and are now to be seen, owned, opened, washed, and healed. The tendency to judge ourselves and the other will be oneresponse to resist change, protect ourselves, and cower down in familiar childish patterns thatblame and resent “the big bad world” for making our lives so hard. Seen in another light, itis an attempt to solve with the head, matters of the heart, to remain in the head andignore the feelings which are where evolution truly occurs.A second common response to self/life/security threatening situations and people isanger. It’s the big gun in our arsenal of defense mechanisms. Alas, this too shall not serve itspurpose as we deal with evolutionary forces self-created and projected which seek our ownevolution with the permission of our ego or not. Let’s keep in mind that anger too is abinding force. We cannot truly separate what we hold anger toward, it is self-destructive in theend, as we know on a soul level the hurt/pain caused, the shame of remaining small and havingalienated and distanced ourselves from a source of self-knowledge, understanding, andpotential healing. In one way, anger is a flag alerting us to the presence of a need for change, 8/9
  9. 9. where we need to wake up, dig deeper, process, and get beneath it to the source/root of what/why/where it came from. It is the revolving red light that signals a “time for transformation,” would naturally be followed by an alert, awakened response ready to listen, feel, analyze, figure out, and transform, not an overwhelmed, desperate, victimized, “Oh no, I can’t, goodbye,” going back to sleep (drugs, the road, addictions etc.) response. These energies, as present within the gestalt of our times, will continue to increase in vibrational frequency; much like the speeding up of molecules that make the temperature rise! As we continue our approach toward the Winter Solstice, we are like planes circling the field preparing to land, or better, spaceships seeking re-entry into the atmospheric conditions of earth. It behooves us to remember the valuable cargo (or newly discovered aspects of our cosmos) we all carry within us that is seeking delivery to our cohabitants on planet earth. We must be ready at the controls, alert and prepared to make adjustments, changes, or alter our course in a moment’s notice as a result of new information gained from our immediate environment (Jupiter in Gemini wasn’t mentioned). As we grow closer and closer, the excitement/tension of the touchdown will continue to push us beyond our limits as individuals and as a collective. As each of us consciously chooses to “Seize the Day!” and keep in mind the great celebration awaiting the arrival of our Full/True Self we will be encouraged to stay awake and master those controls! Keeping these thoughts in mind, the attitude and approach that may best serve us this month is to maintain equilibrium (thank god/dess for Venus in Libra!), not swinging from one extreme to the other, fight/flight, in/out, ecstasy/despair, etc. As wizened elders that are preparing to steward this beautiful blue planet through her amazing birth into a galactic presence, we make the choices that best serve the whole, be that our relationship, family, community, country, and/or planet. We are now enough; strong enough, old enough, and have enough love in our hearts to “know” the “right” thing to do, to put our old selves aside, our fears, patterns, attachments, and identities that are of a limiting nature and step up to create a new world. We will emerge from the mine of gold with the shimmering, beautiful material reflection of the hard won awareness of our divine nature to truly illuminate a world asking for the light of our fire! Big days for change are: 2, 5, 6, 8, 15, 22, 25 and 28 9/9Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
