Drumming Circle

  2. 3. <ul><li>reduces stress and introduces a new level of confidence and self expression </li></ul><ul><li>Inspires clients to be creative </li></ul><ul><li>Is a form of exercise </li></ul><ul><li>Stimulates the senses </li></ul><ul><li>Helps clients remember their own musical memories </li></ul>

  4. 5. <ul><li>Warm up </li></ul><ul><li>Simple drum patterns </li></ul><ul><li>Sing a longs </li></ul><ul><li>Freestyle Share work </li></ul><ul><li>(Solos will only be done if clients request it) </li></ul>
  5. 6. <ul><li>Duration: 5 – 10 min depending on the group </li></ul><ul><li>Stretching arms and fingers before playing </li></ul><ul><li>I will play drum beats and encourage clients to repeat it </li></ul><ul><li> Drum Pattern One </li></ul>
  6. 7. <ul><li>Duration: 10 min </li></ul><ul><li>I will conduct the class by playing various simple patterns and encourage clients to repeat </li></ul><ul><li>Drum Pattern Two </li></ul><ul><li>Drum Pattern Three </li></ul><ul><li>Drum Pattern Four </li></ul>
  7. 8. <ul><li>Duration: 20 min </li></ul><ul><li>Group will be given a chance to drum to different styles of songs </li></ul><ul><li>Are also welcome to sing a long </li></ul><ul><li>For example a great one is Disney’s The Lion King – The Circle of Life </li></ul>
  8. 9. <ul><li>Duration: 20 min </li></ul><ul><li>a volunteer will start a beat and this becomes the tempo and the tone of the piece </li></ul><ul><li>Using this as a guideline it will prevent the class from slipping into the same rhythm patterns and from one person continuously dominating </li></ul>
