Rocket comp2011amended

  1. 1. Golfhill Primary School <ul><li>Golfhill Primary P7’s enter the Airdrie Academy Rocket Competition. </li></ul><ul><li>They have entered each year since the event began in 2007. </li></ul>
  2. 3. Test Firing!! <ul><li>The children build their own rockets. </li></ul><ul><li>These are then test fired on the school playing field. </li></ul><ul><li>The top five are selected to compete against other schools. </li></ul>
  3. 5. Lift-off!! <ul><li>The rockets are fired after a countdown. </li></ul><ul><li>Sometimes the contestants get wet!! </li></ul>
  4. 8. Whole School Event <ul><li>Other classes come to watch. </li></ul><ul><li>They cheer on the rockets of friend’s and relatives. </li></ul>
  5. 10. The winning team!! <ul><li>The winning team: </li></ul><ul><li>Total distance flown - 308.7 metres </li></ul>
  6. 12. The overall distance winner! <ul><li>His rocket travelled 115 metres!! </li></ul><ul><li>It was fired first and remained unbeaten. </li></ul><ul><li>It flew further than rocket entries from 5 local High School’s. </li></ul>
