Crazyflie - A flying PCB - FOSDEM 2015

In 2009 three Swedish engineers invented a small quadcopter that started with a simple idea: get an electronic board (PCB) to fly. They created the "Crazyflie Nano Quadcopter" which weighs only 19g and fits in the palm of your hand. It can be controlled from various devices, including PC, Android or iOS devices, Raspberry Pi or a R/C remote. While the main client has been written in Python, it has also been ported to Java, C, JavaScript. Since the beginning of 2013 the hardware can be bought from http://www.seeedstudio.com, but the schematics for the PCB and the firmware/host source code are also available on their website/Github account. Due to the low cost for the hardware and the open source approach, the Crazyflie has been used in different private and academic science and research projects around the world.
