  • In the movies, zombies are defined by certain characteristics. Eating brains Reacting to instinctual behavior (sensitive to sound and smell) don’t attack each other. Are formed by a virus, gene altering drug, or alien invasion Destroys the higher functions of the brain and leaves only the instinct and basic predatory functions

    1. 1. The ZombieApocalypse
    2. 2. OriginsHarvard psychiatrist Steven Scholzman wrote a (fictional)medical paper on the zombies presented in Night of theLiving Dead and refers to the condition as AtaxicNeurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome caused byan infectious agent.
    3. 3. The Three Stages of the Apocalypse Stage 1 – Fortify Stage 2 – Gather Stage 3 - Survive
    4. 4. Stage one - Fortify• First 24-48 hours are crucial – Don’t Panic• Don’t go out and “shop”• Prepare and inventory what you have• Be prepared to “bunker” for at least a couple of weeks
    5. 5. Stage one - FortifyMy son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst ofthine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, andhealth to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; forout of it are the issues of life.Proverbs 4:20-23
    6. 6. Stage one - FortifySee then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be yenot unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filledwith the Spirit;Ephesians 5:15-18
    7. 7. Stage one - FortifyI beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye presentyour bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is yourreasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be yetransformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what isthat good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GodRomans 12:1-2
    8. 8. Stage one - FortifyThere is a way that seemeth right unto a man,but the end thereof are the ways of death.Proverbs 16:25
    9. 9. Stage two - GatherAfter a period of time, begin to gather resources•Obtain a weapon of some sort – preferably a melee weapon•Find a source of water and collect non perishable food•Cover yourself•Travel only in the light and never by yourself
    10. 10. Stage two - Gather• 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 2 Corinthians 10:3-4• Be ready to do what it takes to protect yourself! – Genesis 39:1
    11. 11. Stage two - Gather• For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
    12. 12. Stage two - Gather• 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13. 13. Stage two - Gather• 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    14. 14. Stage two - Gather• 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:10-18
    15. 15. Stage two - Gather• 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7
    16. 16. Stage three - Survive• Find a new place to live. – Preferably around a water source – Preferably in the country away from buildings• Best options: Prison, Yacht, country mansion on the lake, Aircraft carrier, hospital.• Bad options – mall, wal-mart, your house, tall building.
    17. 17. Stage three - surviveRejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let yourmoderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be carefulfor nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication withthanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And thepeace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your heartsand minds through Christ Jesus.
    18. 18. Stage three - surviveFinally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things arelovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if therebe any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall bewith you.Philippians 4:4-9
    19. 19. The end
