  5. 5. Find every portrait, fresco, painting, drawing that you can by the same artist or made in the same place at the same time. Begin to look at the clothing construction from work to work. Can you identify commonalities? Seams, types of pleats. How does the line hug the body? Make note.
  6. 6. Begin visualizing the 3D into 2D drawing. You have trouble visualizing flatwork, then use a dress form to drape fabric in correct shape. Tip: I have a dress form preset in my measurements so when I drape, I am building that will fit my form.
  7. 7. Here are some of the adjustment points when developing a bodice pattern.
