This tutorial is part of a training series for NDC faculty for use of the Moodle LMS. This tutorial explains the process of self-enrollment. Please note that this does not apply to faculty that are part of the Learning House hosted web assist courses.

  1. 1. Student Self-Enrollment <br />into Moodle Courses<br />Mission Statement: Notre Dame College, a Catholic institution in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, educates a diverse population in the liberal arts for personal, professional and global responsibility.<br />
  2. 2. Login to Moodle <br /><br />Username: prefix of NDC email account<br />Password: whatever you created upon login to network system on campus<br />IT Dept Login Assistance:<br />Chris Riddle – 373-5356<br />Scott Damel – 373-5244<br />Mike Keic – 373-5227<br />

  4. 4. Enrolling in a Course<br />Course Selection <br />You will see a list of courses appear the first time you login to the Moodle site.<br />Select one of the courses for which you are enrolled. Be certain to pay attention to the section of the course, to prevent accidentally enrolling in the wrong course section. <br />
  5. 5. Selecting yes to self-enroll<br />Select YES if you are certain the course you have selected is one in which you are registered.<br />
  6. 6. Opening course at self-enrollment<br />I can see what course and where in the course I am by looking at the “crumbs” across the top of the course page.<br />
  7. 7. What to do first in the course block<br />
  8. 8. Enrolled in the wrong course/section?<br />If you select the wrong course for enrollment, DO NOT PANIC! <br />Politely, you should either email or call the instructor listed in the syllabus, and let him/her know that you accidentally enrolled in the wrong course section.<br />The instructor can un-enroll you from the course. You will see the class removed from your list of courses once the instructor has deleted your enrollment.<br />
  9. 9. You can always come back to the main page of the site without logging in and out. <br />The “crumb” NDCM will always take you back to your course site that lists all courses in which you have enrolled.<br />
  10. 10. My Courses<br />Once you have enrolled in at least one course, you will see that course listed, and only that course.<br />You will need to search for the other courses for which you need to enroll.<br />Do this by selecting the ALL COURSES button.<br />
  11. 11. Selecting Additional Courses<br />You can browse the list for additional courses that you need to enroll in for the semester by following the same process shown in this presentation. <br />Continue to select courses until you have all courses/sections in your list of My Courses.<br />You will not be able to self-enroll in courses after a specified date (see instructor).<br />
  12. 12. You have completed this section!!!<br />
