1. 1. An overview about different types of weighing scales Introduction: What is weighing scale? It is a measuring instrument that determines the weight and mass of the object. Where it is used? It is used in industries and commercial application for weighing the products. When it was invented? No clear records of its invention, but there is a say that it is existence from ancient period and it was invented for the purpose of trade activities. The balancing scale was the first measuring instrument invented and later on the lists of weighing scales went long and let us see some of the weighing instruments in a short lines. Counting scales: Sometimes a human being can do errors in counting and due to lack of observation power mistakes can happen in counting. So to overcome the problems in counting, counting scales were introduced and the advantage of counting scales is that it can save time and money. For example, if you want to count more than 500 items and definitely it takes some time to count, but a counting scale can do it within a minute. So your time spent for counting is saved and at the same time you can increase your sales margin. Digital counting scales are available and it provides the highest level of counting accuracy. Bench scales: The bench weighing scales are constructed of aluminum or mild steel body with a stainless steel shroud and used for both commercial and industrial purpose. The modern bench scales are economical, compact and light weighted with ac or battery operated. Some of the types of bench weighing scales are as follows. Heavy-Duty Bench Scales are suitable for the weighing and counting applications Freight and airline companies use such Heavy-Duty Bench Scales. Warehouse Bench Scales are used for a wide range of simple weighing applications. Food Preparation Scales are used in food factories and food preparation environment. Top pan weighing scales are suitable for weighing and counting applications in light industrial weighing environments.

Floor scales: In industries any goods which are either imported or exported needs to be weighed and generally these goods weigh more, so flooring scales were invented for the purpose of measuring heavy goods and it is also called as a drum weigher. The flooring scales are invented with digital reading where you can see the weight of the goods in the LCD screen with more precise and accuracy. It has wheels and a high mounting platform for an indicator and with an optional battery pack you can wheel your scale to where it is needed. Bagging scale: Bagging scales are widely used all over the world for weighing grain, sugar, rice and by industries in which bulk commodities are bagged. Gravity feed bagging scales, Vibratory feed bagging scale, auger feed bagging scales, Valve bag packers, Bulk bag scales, Small bagging scales and Sanitary bagging scales are the different types of bagging scales available. Bench scales comes under the category of platform scales and this platform weighing scales have a large number of applications and suitable for a number of uses.
