IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Homeland Security
▸The IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Homeland Security (TCHS) aims to
promote and guide information systems, algorithm, and database research of
relevance to international and national security. The aim of TCHS is to:
- organize special sessions related to cyber-physical systems security in research journals
and technical conferences;
- collaborate with other professional societies to promote security related research;
- collaborate with funding agencies to develop international/national security related
research programs and engage in research projects; and
- collaborate with government agencies, industrial partners, and local and national media
in sponsoring and organizing international/national security related meetings, engaging in
policy discussions, and facilitating training, education, and outreach programs.

and impactful contributions to homeland security practice or research, providing a
female role model for young women pursuing a career in the field.

Cristina Alcaraz received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer
science from the University of Malaga in 2011 and 2006, respectively.
She is an associate professor with the Department of Computer
Science, University of Malaga. Her main research interests include
critical infrastructure protection, more specifically, the security of SCADA
systems, cyber-physical systems, the Industrial Internet of Things, and
digital twins, all of them applied in Industry 4.0, manufacturing and
supply chain systems, and smart grids.
She is a long-standing member of IEEE TCHS and a member of the EB
of 10+ journals addressing cyber security and infrastructure protection.
