Gründerane i Kitemill valte å satse på kite som prinsipp for framtidas energiforsyning. Teorien viser seg å stemme i praksis. Fordelane er så store og viktige at kite blir den neste store varige energiteknologien som bryter gjennom. Det vil gå raskare enn det gjorde for vindmøller. Teknologi fra forsvarsindustrien, fiske samt olje og gass kjem direkte til anvendelse. Den norske industrikapasiteten kan bli relevant i utrullinga, spesielt om Norge bli arenaen dette skjer på, men tidsvinduet er smalt.

Hårklau er utdanna elkraftingeniør ved høgskule i Bergen. Han starta i 2005 som kvalitetsleiar i ei bedrift som kommersialiserte ei ny løysning mot olje og gass næringa. Har frå karrierestart jobba med start, utvikling og kommersialisering av nyetableringar. I 2007 grunnlag Hårklau VossVind AS. Der var han daglig leiar der til desember 2011, nokre månader før opning av Skandinavias første resirkulerande vertikale vindtunnel. Hårklau er med-gründer og daglig leiar i Kitemill AS.

The kite is controlled in the same way as an autopilot for a plane.
