- #3 So, Let’s start directly with the idea: Three years ago, we saw emerging in the IT Sector new Coding Technologies with the specificities to be fully Web-based and Integrable. Our idea was to take these technologies and integrate them directly in the Core System of the Asset Managers.
- #4 So, at FundProcess, we create Coding Environments designed for Asset Managers with the specificity to be directly integrated in the core system. So, you can code by yourself and without IT the features you need in terms of investment, risk management, compliance, trading, etc. or for your back-office. It’s like in Excel with VBA macro but directly in your system! So, what you code is directly connected to your data, included in your automations and your outputs are directly included in your reporting and in your monitoring. This is not a new Low-Code/No-Code platform where you draw workflows, etc. but a real full-featured coding platform that allows you to be autonomous. We have packaged this new technology in a five-tool Asset Manager Development Toolkit. It includes: a Macro Editor, an ETL, a Process designer, a Report Designer, and an Automation Designer. So, with those five tools, you are equipped to design anything your need for your business.
- #5 You start with the data management and the ETL, ETL means "Extract-Transform-Load", this to connect all your counterparties, design your data flows but also extract information from your legal documentation. As of today, still many financial companies are only integrated with their major counterparties and handle manually the rest. So, with that ETL, you code your data management, and you get fully integrated by yourself.
- #6 Then, once you’re integrated, with the macro editor, you code your features using templates and with a language that understands your business terminology, and finally with the automation and report designers for automation, you industrialize.
- #7 This approach is also changing the way you can do “Outsourcing”. Indeed, now, you can ask your service provider to code your compliance, risk management and operate it daily directly in your platform. So, you keep the hand, you do a better oversight on your delegates, you can re-internalize if you want and it’s easier to switch between service providers. This is also applicable for Data Management, as the ETL is also Web-Based and SaaS, you can ask us or your service providers to perform “Data Management as a Service” and you’re freed from this task. Bringing up the code to the Asset Manager unlocks his possibilities but some may find that quite complicated or would prefer turnkey solutions even their needs are not fully covered. The first answer to that is the use of templates: provide our clients with an extensive and evolving range of templates ready to be used or to be slightly amended to reach a perfect fit. By the way, we’ve launched a GitHub community where Asset Managers from all horizons can share and help each other on macros. For the rest, we work with our partners to provide an extensive support and training of our client teams. So, we do it for you with you and then we proceed to a knowledge transfer with trainings. The future is the code, so these trainings performed on real business cases are good opportunities for teams. Our research works also continuously to develop easy coding features and to simplify the language.
- #8 A quick word about the company: we created it 3 years ago now, the research is now completed since last May and the solution is now into production with clients in UK, Luxembourg, and Belgium.
