In 2009 Kentucky passed House Bill 124. This legislation allows students to take days of excused absence to visit their parents who are in the armed forces and stationed overseas while the parents are granted leave for rest, pre-deployment and post-deployment. I am asking that my child not be penalized for these absences so that he/she can have quality time to reunify with his/her parent after an extended and stressful deployment serving our country.
