Description <ul><li>It’s nature made. </li></ul><ul><li>The Angel Oak tree covers 17,100 square feet of the island. </li></ul><ul><li>The Angel Oak Tree is 1,500 years old. </li></ul><ul><li>Towering over 65 feet high, the Angel oak tree has been shaded John Island, SC, for over 1,400 years, and would have sprouted 1,000 years before Columbus’ arrival in the new world. </li></ul>

Fact <ul><li>Recording history traces the ownership of the live Oak and surrounded land, back in the year 1717 when Abraham Wright received it as a part of a small land grant. </li></ul><ul><li>The Angel Oak is thought to be one of the oldest living things east of the Mississippi River. </li></ul>
