What is Traditional Surrogacy??

Traditional Surrogacy
• Traditional Surrogacy is the process in which a surrogate is artificially
inseminated with donor sperm via IUI, IVF or home insemination.
• Artificial insemination is easy, pretty painless, and significantly less
expensive than IVF, a selling point for many surrogates and intended
parents.
• Surrogate Mother carries the baby and delivers it for the parents to raise.
• This form of surrogacy is the older method and because of the genetic link
between the surrogate and the baby there is some downside risk to this
form of surrogacy.

• The resulting child is
genetically unrelated to the
Intended Parents and
genetically related to the
surrogate.
• Traditional surrogate is the
baby's biological mother.

What is Gestaional Surrogacy??

Gestaional Surrogacy
• Gestational Surrogacy is when a surrogate mother is implanted
with an embrayo that contains the egg and sperm of the
Intended Parents.
• The gestational surrogate has no genetic relationship to the
child that she is carrying.
• In cases where the intended mother is unable to produce
healthy eggs, surrogacy with egg donation can be arranged.

• Gestational surrogacy is method in
which gestational surrogate is not
genetically related to the child and
acts only as a gestational carrier for
the pregnancy.
• A gestational surrogate is called the
"birth mother."

Criteria to be a Surrogate
• You must be a parent yourself who have had an easy
pregnancy and birth.
• Between the ages of 21-39.
• Have a BMI below 30-32.

• Healthy with regular menstrual cycles
• Non-smoker and no recreational drugs
• Not currently on Depo-Provera; if you currently have an IUD,
it must be removed when you register.
• Willing to undergo a background check (self/spouse).
