What can I do to help Bridge Bread?

  3. 3. + ‘Like’ Bridge Bread’s Facebook Page Go to http://Facebook.com/BridgeBread  Click on ‘Like’ You will see all Bridge Bread posts in your Timeline
  4. 4. + Re-post Bridge Bread’s Facebook Posts When you see a post from Facebook in your timeline, do two or three things:  Click on ‘Like’  Make a ‘Comment’  Best of all – click on ‘Share’ to re-post the status on your own timeline  That will make it show to all your friends that follow you  It really helps if you can add your thoughts when you re-post

  6. 6. + What happens when I visit the Bakery?  You will be inspired by seeing the Bakers at work  They work so hard to make good products and improve themselves  You can meet the Bakers and see that they are people just like you and me  It smells wonderful!  You can probably get a sample or maybe even buy some bread  The Bakers are there at least 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Thursday-Saturday
  7. 7. + What else can I do at the Bakery? You can bring the Bakers lunch  You, and a small group of up to eight people, can join the bakers for lunch by scheduling a visit by email to: volcoordinator@bridgestl.org  There are generally five bakers and a volunteer plus your group that will share lunch. The Bakers appreciate a hearty meal  If you don’t wish to prepare a meal, fast food like KFC or Subway is fine. Salads and fruit are really appreciated The conversations are enlightening You will leave a changed person. Magic happens!
  8. 8. + Is there even more?  If you have the time and energy, you can be trained as a Bridge Bread Shift Supervisor and work with the Bakers Typically this is an all-day commitment once a week, but we also need fill-ins when the regular shift supervisor is out Bridge Bread Shift Supervisors almost always are inspired by the Bakers and become ‘ambassadors’ to the get the word out to the community

  10. 10. + It takes a lot of flour to make all that bread!  Bridge Bread purchases supplies based on orders each week We buy several hundred pounds of flour, butter, sugar, and other supplies at Restaurant Depot on Manchester between Hampton and McCausland and deliver it to the Bakery on Wednesdays You could be the Bridge Bread shopper! Contact Fred Domke (fdomke@gmail.com) to find out more
