Puppet Play!
The Circus
Topic:Wild animals and professions at the circus and their inherent actions.
Objectives:
 To establish relationships between the different kinds of animals and professions of
the circus.
 To establish relationships between the different kinds of animals and professions
and their characteristic actions.
 To interpret structure of greetings, personal presentations, introducing the characters
of the circus and describing them.
 To interpret the use of “can” when expressing physical ability.
Age: 10-11 years old. Fifth or Sixth grade.
Conceptual contents:
 Vocabulary: Parts of the body: face, mouth, eyes, nose, ears, hair, and hands.
Adjectives: describing the parts of the body: big, tall, small.
Colours: white, red, black, brown.
Animals: Lion, Bear, Rabbit.
Characters of the Circus: Magician, Clown, Ringmaster.
 Grammar: Verb “to be.”
Greetings and Introductions.
Have/Has got.
“Can” for abilities.
Didactic Sequence:
Objectives:
 To describe and present the characters of the circus.
 To reinforce the vocabulary and the grammatical structures.
Presentation:
A short play acted out with puppets that describe themselves and their abilities.
