How to make nice 16x9 DVDs out of a PowerPoint presentation

Ever wanted to make an autoplaying, looping DVD that looks good on a widescreen 16:9 display from a powerpoint presentation slide deck?

Here is a process in which you can start with powerpoint on a Mac or PC (Office 2007 on Vista PC used for this example)

  2. 2. Ever wanted to…<br />Create an autoplay looping DVD that looks good on a 16:9 widescreen display?<br />From a powerpoint slide deck ??<br />This presentation is set up to show you how to do that (and can be copied as a template)<br />
  3. 3. Design-&gt;Page Setup<br />27.09 x 15.24 cm<br />Is 1042 x 576 pixels at 96ppi<br />
  4. 4. Save as -&gt; jpeg<br />Save presentation to a folder of sequentially numbered .jpg images<br />Each .jpg image will be 1024x576 pixels<br />
  5. 5. Quicktime Player<br />File-&gt;Open image sequence<br />Choose first .jpg in sequence<br />10 seconds per frame<br />Save as quicktime .mov movie<br />
  6. 6. iDVD (Mac Only)<br />New project default theme widescreen format<br />Properties – choose PAL or NTSC<br />Quality -&gt; Professional<br />Drag .mov to autoplay box of map view and select<br />Options – Loop Movie<br />
