I AM NEW - PTR. ALAN ESPORAS - 10AM MORNING SERVICE

  1. 1. I AM NEW
  2. 2. METAMORPHOSIS
  3. 3. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 OLD YOU / FUTILE MIND 17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.
  4. 4. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 DARKENED/ ALIENATED / IGNORANT / HARDHEARTED 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
  5. 5. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 CALLOUS / GIVEN UP / IMPURITY 19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.
  6. 6. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 NEW YOU 20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!
  7. 7. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 THE TRUTH IS IN JESUS 21 assuming that you have heard about Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Jesus,
  8. 8. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 PUT OFF OLD SELF AND ITS DECEITFUL DESIRES 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
  9. 9. COLOSSIANS 3:8-9 PUT OFF 8 But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds.
  10. 10. COLOSSIANS 3:5-6 PUT TO DEATH 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
  11. 11. EPHESIANS 4:17-24 PUT ON THE NEW SELF 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
  12. 12. COLOSSIANS 3:12-15 12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
  13. 13. COLOSSIANS 3:12-15 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
  14. 14. JOB 29:14 CLOTHED IN THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST 14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.
  15. 15. ISAIAH 61:10 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
  16. 16. There are five kinds of people we will encounter in the Gospel:
  17. 17. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:2 2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
  18. 18. 1. LOOSELY RELIGIOUS “I’m already good enough. I don’t need this.”
  19. 19. 2. SECULAR-RELIGIOUS “The world is in a bad place; I’m here to make a difference.”
  20. 20. 3. VERY SPIRITUAL “We do need to change. We need to evolve into higher states of consciousness.”
  21. 21. 4. DEVOUTLY RELIGIOUS “I need to be more self-disciplined. I need to feel the way to my sin.”
  22. 22. 5. HOPELESS “I just need to accept my fate.”
  23. 23. ANG MABUTING GINAWA NI HESUS SA KRUS ANG NAGLIGTAS SA ATING LAHAT Example: APOSTLE PAUL
  24. 24. PHILIPPIANS 3:5-6 PAUL’S OLD IDENTITY 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness, under the law blameless.
  25. 25. PHILIPPIANS 3:8 PAUL’S NEW IDENTITY 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.
  26. 26. WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?
  27. 27. 1. Receive Jesus in your heart. 2. Understand your new identity. 3. Walk in your new identity.
