OLD YOU / FUTILE MIND
17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord,
that you must no longer walk as the
Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.
DARKENED/ ALIENATED /
IGNORANT / HARDHEARTED
18 They are darkened in their
understanding, alienated from the life of
God because of the ignorance that is in
them, due to their hardness of heart.
CALLOUS / GIVEN UP / IMPURITY
19 They have become callous and have
given themselves up to sensuality, greedy
to practice every kind of impurity.
20 But that is not the way you learned

Him and were taught in Him, as the truth

8 But now also put off all these things:
anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy,
shameful speech out of your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, having put off
the old man with his deeds.
PUT TO DEATH
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in
you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion,
evil desire, and covetousness, which is

PUT ON THE NEW SELF
24 and to put on the new self, created
after the likeness of God in true
righteousness and holiness.
12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones,
holy and beloved, compassion, kindness,
humility, meekness, and patience,

has a complaint against another, forgiving
each other; as the Lord has forgiven you,
so you also must forgive.

hearts, to which indeed you were called in
one body. And be thankful.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my
soul shall exult in my God, for He has
clothed me with the garments of salvation;
He has covered me with the robe of

There are five kinds
of people we will

2 CORINTHIANS 3:2
2 You are our letter, written in our hearts,
known and read by all men;
1. LOOSELY RELIGIOUS
“I’m already good enough.
I don’t need this.”
“The world is in a bad place;
I’m here to make a difference.”
3. VERY SPIRITUAL
“We do need to change.
We need to evolve into
higher states of consciousness.”
4. DEVOUTLY RELIGIOUS
“I need to be more self-disciplined.
I need to feel the way to my sin.”

PAUL’S NEW IDENTITY
8 Indeed, I count everything as loss
because of the surpassing worth of
knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His
sake I have suffered the loss of all things
and count them as rubbish, in order that I
may gain Christ.
