The Prophet Muhammad said that remembering Allah is like a living creature compared to a dead one. Those who glorify and praise Allah are alive, while those who do not are dead. Glorifying Allah is as important to spiritual life as physical life is to a living creature.

REMEMBRANCE OF ALLAH
The Prophet (P.b.u.h) said: “The example of the one who remembers (Glorifies the praises of) his lord, (Allah) in comparison to the one who does not remember (Glorifies the praises of) his Lord, is that of a living creature compared to a dead one.” (Sahih Al Bukhari, Vol. 8, Hadith No. 416)
